  • College jobs aren't where anyone wants to end up. I worked in the food business during college. Specifically my job was as the kosher supervisor to make sure all the laws of kashrut were observed in the kitchen. I pitched in to help with the cooking as well, and we did some catering jobs in addition to the restaurant while I was there. This led to an interesting paradox where I ended up being both staff and a guest at a wedding of two of my friends. Granted, I spent most of my time on the job, but it was also one of the few instances where I allowed myself to drink on the job, since I was also an invited guest. Much as I love food, I didn't go to school and study engineering to spend the rest of my life at a restaurant.

Tech support is also not ultimately where I want to end up, although these days I'm not really sure where I actually do want to end up. That said, for the most part, it is a very fulfilling job. Being thanked for helping out is very rewarding, and the Cartesian robot systems I get to design for customers provide a good challenge. Contrary to popular belief, I don't spend my entire work day on the phone with distraught customers. I actually get my hands dirty repairing broken actuators or controllers and provide training for people who are going to sell our products. My coworkers are all fantastic, my work place is a friendly environment, and my boss is always laughing and being goofy.
That said, there are instances where the job isn't so nice. I've only been with the company for 5 months, but I've already had a customer complaint. Granted, this particular instance really wasn't my fault, and there was evidence to back me up, but it was unpleasant. It wasn't personal, I just happened to be unfortunate enough to have been the tech on the phone when the guy blew up his controller.
I wish you luck with figuring out what you want to do. It's never an easy choice or an easy path. You'll figure it out eventually and in the meantime there's always Pokemon.
My first work of edible art? I don't really arrange my food into sculptures or paintings. Anyway, the first "complicated" dish I learned to make by myself is called kasha varnishkas. It's basically a buckwheat grain with either bowtie or shell noodles and fried onions. It's delicious. Other things I've learned to cook or bake over the years: chicken schnitzel, chicken soup, fried rice, lasagna, peanut butter cookies, chicken pot pie, garlic bread, chicken stew, vegetable soup, a couple of different kugels, challah (Jewish ritual bread), chicken stir-fry, and various vegetable medleys. There are probably more, but I don't remember off the top of my head.

    (part 2 of 3)
I actually thought about programming my own video game at one point. Had a partner and even began coding the first area. Programmed in the first way to die (death by bystander), and even through completing the first objective. Then, all throughout the summer, I wanted to work on the project, but the most recent code was on my partner's laptop, and he was in a funk. I restarted school, and that's when he wanted to restart working on the project. I didn't have any time at that point, and he and I weren't on such good terms by then anyway, so the project kind of fell apart. I really don't think it would have gone that far anyway, but I do occasionally wonder if he's tinkering with the code.

    (part 1 of 2)
Yeah, a few. There are actually some really good ones out there. Even one that I played using Gen I mechanics. It's amazing what people can do with a little (read: a lot) of programming.

I'll let you know if it's any good in a moment. I've been cooking since I was 8, so it kinda runs through my veins now.

If you don't mind my asking, what is it that you do? Are you working, still in school, between jobs?
I feel like I'm boring in that I tend to play the character that's my gender. One of the exceptions is FRLG, and technically not in a real game. I played as the female protagonist in Rijon Adventures mostly to see what would happen if the female character entered the male side of the hot springs.
Question: have you ever played any hacked games? If so do you have any recommendations?

There might be a way to repair it...if over 50% of the garment wasn't holes.

I'm just now putting the final touches on a pasta with Griller crumbles. I fried an onion into the crumbles and added some roast garlic marinara sauce and seasonings. Ironic for an engineer, but I'm actually a pretty damned good cook. It's one of the ways I express my more creative side. (Bad jokes are another way.)

Glad I amuse someone aside from myself. Granted amusing myself does make it worthwhile, but it's even better if someone else is laughing along with me.
Unfortunately, I have a tendency to play as the male character...for some reason.

I do still have that trench coat, and all things considered its in good condition. The liner is torn to shreds though such that most of the time when I try to put my arms in the sleeve holes, I'm actually putting them through holes in the liner.

Unfortunately, since I'm posting from my phone, I can't see the gif you posted, yet. I'm cooking myself a nice dinner to cushion the blow.
Also, location changed. I hope I don't just amuse myself when I do shtick like that.
No, you're not the only one who puts on a trench coat to help Looker; I've been doing it since Platinum. I am actually sorely disappointed that a trench coat isn't an available clothing option (that I've found anyway). Granted, the first trench coat I ever had I inherited after my grandfather passed away, but I've always been fond of them.

I actually spent about 15 minutes looking for the gif, which is kind of sad, but well worth the pun.
I might wind up changing my location to "sulking somewhere" but it would only be in jest.
Thanks again for the input, KM. Both new threads are up an running. Soon I will have a high enough thread count to sew myself a new trench coat! Muahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!

Alas, it seems as though the Clone War was lost whilst I rested on my Sabbath. A shame, but nothing I could have done that I had not already done. I'll keep the new user theme though, since I actually am rather fond of it.
Aliens have to assist Tsoukalos with his hair the same way they had to help with the building of the pyramids, right?

I guess it's better than the urge of telling the other to shut the fuck up every time he opens his mouth.

Can you pronounce Kindlifresserbrunnen though? (Is that 'a' supposed to be silent? I always pronounce it.)
Late reply is very late sheesh :p

Pfffffft that but is unscapable :p and yeah it really makes it a lot easier to use in situations of humor, I mean it feels a lot more "go to" than the other smileys that accomplish the same purpose.

    How so?
Can he pull off the Giorgio A. Tsoukalos haircut?

Good terms is very relative here.

I'd argue they're two different kinds of awesome. Bouffalant is imposing while Mega Ampharos is awe-inspiring.
at last you see the light
I know that we don't reply that fast, but IM SORRY SCHOOL IS MEAN TO MEEE....

    Oh them feels ;-;

No, I have not. I will watch it though xD I don't have too many... If I find some I'll give them to you. :)
KM, you've now officially become my sounding board for new game ideas. I hope you don't mind, and I won't pester you if you do.
In any case, I've come up with two new game ideas that I think might be interesting.

    1. You've just discovered a new element: What do you want to name it?
Basically, the title is self explanatory, each poster gives the element a name and can describe some of its properties if they so desire.

    2. What is ^'s melee weapon of choice?
Inspired by the fact that I've been carrying around a giant pair of novelty scissors at work, this thread would allow the users to describe a melee weapon the above poster would bring to a fight. Semi-violent, but really people are "attacking" each other all the time in LPW.

Let me know what you think and if you need further details. Again, since I get these brilliant (read: insane) ideas late in the week, I'll probably act on them after my Sabbath at this point, so no big rush.

(PS: Hope you like my new look. I figured it might be appropriate, considering I'm on my way to 900 posts in ^ vs v and after a couple of interesting 'mishaps' have 254 clones running around the F&G forum.)
Haha you're doing a better job of keeping your backlog on task better than I am! xD Pretend you found Ni No Kuni for say, $10. Would you buy it and just keep it until you can get a PS3? By the way, Level 5 will announce a new game for PS4 this E3. I'm hoping it's a sequel to Ni No Kuni!!

That was literally the most time I've spent looking through tumblr posts in one sitting! xD That was awesome fan art. :0 It's so cool how people can make that much from one teaser! This portrait of Lobster Lord was awesome.
    [SPOILER]
Do you have a particular character you like (including the Mouth of Truth monster)? XD Don't worry KM, there's no way you could forget about this one! I'll even remind you every time we message each other! Here's today's reminder! [SPOILER]

Hmm, I think Link is becoming more uncommon, so get him soon! I'm literally checking GameStop every day to see when pre-orders for Wave 4 will go on!
Wow, I just read the Nintendo World Store is already selling Rosalina and Luma, Lucario, and Shulk amiibo. [IMG] Really wanted Shulk!

Although I hate to say it, they will most likely have droopy swords (and I think Link does too). And yeah, I don't think there will be a fRobin, unless there will be amiibos for all the "alternates". :'''( Doesn't it bug you when people only refer to Robin as a "he"? -_-

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about the volunteering at the animal shelter! xD He told me he would've volunteered if he didn't have to clean the litter boxes. I had to tell the lady I'm just going to wait until I turn 18 this July to volunteer. Kind of excited for it, those cats were so cute and friendly!! :3
Hehe! Well I guess there’s that but also I straight up just forgot/thought I had already replied. So many pardons, milady.

I don’t blame them. They ain't ready for this jelly ;S

Haha maybe I will! I’ll do it the same time as I do my piano cover of Wings and/or All Our Days (i.e. whenever I have the time which may be never xD)

Ok first, that’s great xD I forgot he said that but it reminds me of this special little thing

That second one though. HA. HAHAHAHHAHAHA. HAHAHAHA. F-tupled in quality indeed.
Papa Matata is a fan of the aliens?

And not just any Jesus, one of the Latino variety (you can skip the 1:55-3:20 segment).

(Yes. At least Bouffalant has a stylish afro.)
Before of course. Inception is how he made most of his fortune.
