I like AD a lot more than simple file sharing, simply because it's so robust and flexible. You need to have more advanced networking skills but I'm sure that won't be a problem for you.
Aw what the heck. *Invests in the entire pokemon and halo franchise* *makes millions* *Millions turn into billions* *No longer WANTS to become a billionare so freakin bad*
Sort of, but it can go much, much deeper than that. Like you can set up user accounts on the server computer and then use the same information to log onto all the computers on the network, without having to set them up individually on each computer. You can also set restrictions on certain usergroups over the network as well. And the login hours has been around a lot longer than just Vista and 7, you can set logon hours for user accounts on the network with Windows 2000 Server. I mean you could spend months looking for all the cool stuff you can do with it.
Yeah....unfortunately. I have Active Directory set up on my home network. It makes full use of my router. It's amazing how many people have no idea the true benefits of a router outside of just internet.
That would be an awesome idea. Too bad you couldn't get your hands on a copy of Windows 2000 Server or something like that, you could set up Active Directory!
And it's been sorta nice this week but I want to see grass, not icy snow. That sucks, especially trying to walk on it. Every time I go outside I have to hold onto the car so I don't slip on that stuff.
