His actor is pretty famous, maybe they couldn't spare him. Perhaps he's off fishing or recording some big anime or something. Maybe there is a budget hiccup somewhere and the big famous M.M is too expensive....
(Heck maybe that is why Goh gets so much focus, his actor is Izuku's+ and that may...
Lost my big notes to a accidental click but hey, great episode, and most of the complaints some (VINYL) have are negated by the episode itself. Not all of course, but most with subs go away.

This art I commed back when it happened never stops being relevant sadly....
Its the curse of Ash. If Ash loses he sucks, if he wins it 'doesn't count'.
It's why I often don't sleep well on nights before battles because I am (half really) sure that the results of Kalos gave me fandom-related PTSD.
And hey if they hadn't hard-hit Ash with the 10 rule you could make jokes about her constantly knocking him into water. Though IDK, maybe Lana just had more time to establish a all around goofy yet effective personality to make her worthy of the vaunted title of 'better Brock gag'
...If we are talking about Journeys we've only had three in Korrina, Bea, and Iris, and I suspect you mean Korrina and Iris. Maybe it becomes three if we count Ash versus Misty in SM but....I think you are in the minority here. Nothing wrong with some platonic fanservice.
Everyone starts from the bottom. It is entirely possible that Iris entered the tournament later than say, Korrina did. Ash entered when there was 10,000, maybe she did when it was 15,000.
Seen only the Serebii shots, will see if I can find it later. Mostly curious how it feels in motion, though I admit the battle flow kind of reminded me of Ash v Visquez.
Not that it is a bad thing, but something I thought off the top of my head.
