i never said he should release greninja, my point is it's not pointless for ash to get greninja if he's going to release it ._. And plus, how does that case make ash should release all his pokemon?

there's no way to write good story lines without insulting some fans especially in pokemon. Keeping it in Oak's lab would insult fans who thinks ash should bring it to alola, bringing it to Alola would insult fans who doesn't like it or think it's unfair. Not catching it at all would insult...

if greninja is never going to be used again, it's almost the same ._. greninja was obviously needed for the xyz plot

not necessarily, Ash left lapras at orange islands but we saw it once in Johto, and ash left charizard in charicific valley till end of Unova but we saw it in Battle frontier etc. It's unlikely we see it again if it stays in Kalos tho ._.
