[For myself (Luck Gandor) and my partner @Midorikawa only. Please do not post unless you are them!]

Ricky had waited until nighttime to make his journey. The night before, he'd snuck out of the house with all of five dollars in his pocket, a backpack full of clothes and food, a few Pokeballs he'd bought over the past few weeks, a cellphone he'd bought secretly, and most importantly, his Emotional Support Pokemon, a female Sylveon named Ayana.

He'd made it a few miles away from his house before collapsing in the woods, falling asleep despite the abundance of mosquitoes around him. He woke up with quite a few bugbites, and so did Ayana, but the anti-itch cream he'd packed in his bag helped with that. He needed to make it to the lab, where he would get his first official starter Pokemon. At fifteen, he was starting his journey a little late, but that was because he needed to get all of his supplies together in order to leave his abusive family.

Professor Oak would be waiting at his lab, and there, Ricky would finally be able to start a new chapter of his life.

The ugly spearow pecked at the ground, looking for any small bugs or roots that it could eat. To most trainers, watching such a creature would be considered boring. However for Nagato it was absolutely fascinating. He had wandered upon the small ugly thing a few days ago and instantly became enraptured by it. He didn't want to catch it though. He just liked watching it.

The spearow was very noticeably small for its species. It's feathers were in disarray, clearly not having been preened in a long time if ever. He was pretty sure it couldn't fly since it never did more than short hops that sent its feathers flying. And it's fighting skills were absolutely pathetic. He had seen it lose to a caterpie. And most of all was its coloring. It was a truly sad creature, most likely abandoned by its mother due to its coloring. It happened quite often. A creature was born a wrong color and the parent wouldn't recognize it as its offspring. Thus they abandoned it to the wild to die.

And that was why he adored this one. Despite its coloring marking it as something that others love to attack, and it's small stature, it was still alive. Fully fledged and alive. Which meant the tiny spearow had great resolve.

Of course nature did not usually favor the weak, and resolve was rarely strong enough to fight nature. So it was to no surprise to him that a group of spearow and fearow that ha just arrived chose to attack the ugly little spearow.

"Well it's best to let nature take its course," he said to his partner, standing up from his spot behind some bushes. His partner gave a cry of agreement, standing up as well. Some may find this to be cruel, but to Nagato unless it was humans doing it, it was what Mother Nature wanted. The small thing wouldn't live well in the wild anyways.

He took a look around, pushing his long red hair out of his face as the wind blew it wildly. His green-blue eyes looked around and found that he was lost. Originally he was headed to Professor Oaks lab for the sheer purpose of pure curiosity. After all the man was basically a professor among professors. Unfortunately his curiosity of the small spearow detoured him and he was now lost.

Getting annoyed with his hair he tied it back as he heard a barking like sound. He looked down at his partner Waya, a mightyena. He had found him as a pup just hatched, its mother dead by it when he was a young child. He took him in and the two had been together ever since.

He was a curious mightyena too. He was a bit larger than most. Though everyone outside of Nagato said he was a huge mightyena and the young man simply needed to learn that having over a foot extra in height did not make one slightly larger. Not that he cared. What he truly cared about was the noise Waya was making, telling him that someone was nearby.

And of course this made the young man excited as he ran off in the direction his partner was looking at. If there was a person then he could ask for directions. And he of course found someone. A teenager with a sylveon. Without a care he easily rand right up to the boy, smile on his face. "Excuse me do you know where professor oaks lab is? I seem to have lost my way," he said to him.
