First things first....
You've just moved to Littleroot Town with the family. Explore the town and then head North along Route 101 till you run into Prof Birch. He's in trouble and asks you to release one of the three Pokemon: Water-type Mudkip, Grass-type Treecko or Fire-type Torchic. Make your choice, save the Prof and then head back to the lab. Next, travel on Route 101 till you reach Oldale Town. Catch Pokemon on the way. Visit the Pokemart and Pokemon Centre and head to Petalburg City. When you arrive talk to your father, Norman the Gym Leader, and then head through the Petalburg Woods to the North. You'll run into a number of two on two battles, so make sure you've built up your Pokedex.

Battle One
Next, you'll reach Rustboro City and the first Gym Leader battle with Roxanne. Her Pokemon are Rock-type, so go into the battle with Water or Grass moves. This will make the battle quick and you'll recieve your first Badge (Stone Badge) and HM01 (Cut). Next, Team Aqua has stolen a package from Devon Corp. Chase the theif to the Rusturf Tunnel. Save Mr Briney in the tunnel and return the package to Devon Corp. They'll send you on a mission to see Steven in Dewford and then Captain Stern in Slateport City. You'll also recieve a Pokenav. Head South to Mr Briney's house in Petalburg Woods and get a lift to Dewford Town.

Battle Two
Make sure you've visited the Pokemon Centre and saved your game before heading to the Dewford Gym. Here, you'll face Gym Leader Brawly. His Pokemon use Flying moves, use Fighting or Psychic moves. Victory will secure the Knuckle Badge and HM05 (Flash) to light caves. Head North to the Granite Cave, use Flash! Climb the ladders till you end up on the ground level of the cave but higher in the rocks in front of the cave. Here you'll find Steven. Return to Mr Briney's boat and head to Slateport City. Visit the shack on the beach, defeat the kids inside and recieve a six-pack of soda pop, which restors HP. Head to the shipyard.Captain Stern is away on a importent business. This gives you time to explore the City and the Battle Tent. At first there will be a line outside the Museum but when you return, you'll find Captain Stern upstairs. Head North and drop into the Trick House and then East to Mauville City. First thing you need to do is grab a bike. You have two choices: Mach (Speed) or Acro (Tricks). Battle Wally again. Heal your Pokemon and then head to Mauville Gym.

Battle Three
An experienced Gym Leader, Wattson, commands Electric-type Pokemon, He is a strong Trainer but if you use Ground, Fighting or Fire moves you should be able to beat him. Your reward is the Dynamo Badge, which will icrease your Pokemon's speed. Follow Wattson outside. He'll send you on a quest and give you a Basement Key to New Mauville. Check out the Mauville City Game Corner and play the mini-games. Head West on to Route 117, make sure you visit the Day Care Centre where you can level up or breed your Pokemon of 100 coins each. Next, you'll reach Verdanturf Town. Travel through the Rusturf Tunnel and create a short cut to Rustboro City. Head down Route 111 to 112, visiting all the houses. Drop into Mirage Tower and solve the mystery of the Sealed Chamber and then go to Devon Corp. Head back out on Route 111 into the Desert Ruins (this is where you'll find Regirock later in the game) and then on to Fallarbor Town at the base of Mt. Chimney. Team Magma have kidnapped Prof Cozmo and taken him to Meteor Falls. Rescue him and receive a reward, TM27 (Return). Check out the Fallarbor Town Battle Tent and then head down Route 114 to Meteor Falls. Take Route 115 to Mt Chimney and catch the Cable Car to the top. Battle Maxie the Team Magma Leader. After beating her head to Jagged Pass and then South to Lavaridge Town.

Battle Four
Make sure you visit the Hot Springs, the Herb Shop, restore your Pokémon's health and save before heading to the Lavaridge Gym to take on Flannery. She controls Fire-type Pokémon so make sure you have Water, Ground and Rock-type commands armed and ready. When you defeat her, you will receive the Heat Badge and HM04(Strength),

Battle Five
Now that you have four badges head back to Petalburg and take on your dad, Norman. He uses Normal-type Pokémon, so hit him with Fighting-Pokémon. He'll reward you with the Balance Badge and you'll get HM03 (Surf). Travel to New Mauville and shut down the broken Generator. TravelRoute 118 picking up the Good Rod on the way. Join Route 119 annd visit the Weather Institute. Battle Prof Birch's kid again, and then get moving to Fortree City.

Battle Six
You can't visit the Fortree Gym strait away due to an invisible force, so head down Route 120. Steven will help solve the puzzle and give you a Devon Scope. Return to the Gym and take on Winona. She is armed with Flying Pokémon, so use Electric, Ice or Rock Pokémon attacks to defeat her. The victory will secure the Feather Badge and HM02 (Fly). Head back down Route 120 to Route 121 and visit the Safari Zone to test your skills. When you're exhausted, head to Lilycove City. Go on a shopping spree, visit the Museum and visit the Fan Club. There isn't much else to do here at the moment so head down Route 122 to Mt Pyre. Enter the Mausoleum and exit via the outer mountain wall to Route 123. Along the way to the Magma Hideout see the Berry Master, get TM19 (Giga Drain) and then get ready to get sneaky because Magma have a Master Ball in their Hidout (check out the Team Leader's room).

Battle Seven
Back on track, travel on Route 124 to Mossdeep City for your next battle with twins, Liza and Tate. Two Gym Trainers means double trouble and these Trainers have all the tricks. You'll need STRONG Water-type or Dark-type attacks. Watch out for the duo of Lunatone and Solrock. Next you're off to battle Team Magma (again) at the Space Centre. Clear out the baddies and head upstairs where you'll be joined in battle by Steven. Once victorious, follow Steven back to his house and receive HM08 (Dive). Travel on Route 125, visit the Shoal Cave and then continue on to Route 126. Next is Sootopolis City. The entrance is underwater so use HM08 (Dive). Travel through 127, then 128 and South to the entrance of Seafloor Cavern. Get ready for some fierce battles with Archie, the Aqua Team Leader, then head back to Sootopolis City, where you will witness your first Legendary battle between Kyogre and Groudon. Break up the battle and then head over and talk to Steven. He'll lead you to the Cave of Origins. After some informative discussions, head to Sootopolis Gym and take on Juan.

Battle Eight
A master of Water Pokémon, Juan has a strong team. Make sure you have very powerful Electric or Grass-type Pokémon. Now that you have all eight Gym Badges you can take on the ELITE FOUR. It's time to visit Pacifidlog Town, take the water route through 129, 130 and 131. Tour the town and then Surf over to Sky Pillar, to the North-east of the Town. On top of Sky Pillar you'll find Rayquaza.
