Well, right now there's a big fire that's right behind my hill. And as the hours pass, the smoke clouds get more and more orange. The winds are blowing the other way, but if they were to blow this way, we'd be pretty screwed. So if I'm offline for a while or something happens, you'll know why. But I'm staying optimistic about all this. :p

Oshit, that's fucked up. I hope that Matt's okay. :(

o_O

Nothing's really going on right now. I can just still see smoke over the hill and all. The thing that's pissing me off is that my parents are in this giant paranoia mode and I'm just sitting here like nothing's going on. It's getting annoying a bit. I know they're worried and all, but they're making it seem like our house is literally on fire...when the fire's not even visible, heh.

Yeah, my Dad used to always get like that whenever there'd be a big storm. All fucking paranoid like a tornado would come rushing through at any moment, expecting the worst, and going nuts when I'm just like "umm, whatever." Or something like that.

Ugh. I think there was a gas leak at the train station today. It smelled like 10 million fartz and now I don't feel good. :/

Well, I wasn't at a gas station ^^; I was at a train station and I think there was a natural gas leak nearby. Smelled like rotten eggs D:

I second that. For showing all those sites with all those violations.

Paradox anyone?

Words words words

In a lonely void, interspaced among stars
by whose standards you are dwarfed (but we find you to be giants!)-
And most the time you're hard to even see-
Here we sit, comtemplating the reality beneath your clouds
Are your worlds alive
like ours or, as scientists say, are you frozen?

Really, they say, you aren;t completely frozen
but rather part of you burns like stars
We, the dreamers, hope for wondrous and new life
Maybe it's the idea of globe-trotting such a giant?
Or maybe we'd rather gaze up at your exotic clouds
and name the shapes we see.

You're named for harvests, merry-making, the sky and the sea
from where we watch, you seem tame, in a deep-freeze,
we can;t see the rush hour of your clouds
And the amatuers might just see you as another pin-prick star
eve though you are just like not (just gigantic...)
Could you really be devoid of life?

Taking your atmosphere into consideration, how is that not life?
Clouds billowing and swirling like a violent sea
This is why as children you were introduced to us as "gas giants"
They told us you were far from the sun, freezing
"The biggest", they say, "was probably a botched star,
with a core like a diamond buried by endless clouds."

How the daydreamer adored those clouds
"They're lovely", she breathed; they somehow brightened her life
To know such places are tucked in with the stars
Even if they are difficult for her to see,
they're there! and the next time she feels frozen,
she'll "forget" her medicine and close her eyes and travel faraway to be embraced by her new giants.

It's funny how our home seems gigantic
and painstaking study is paid to our wispy clouds
and at 20 below we declare we'll freeze.
We're enthralled and wrapped up in our butterfly sneeze lives
We're too busy to see
the real jewels hidden in the stars...

The frozen (or is it burning?) giants
To whom unseen scientists devote their lives
To unravel the worlds beneath the clouds as if they are aborted stars.

Boy this thread surprisingly died fast, lol.

Anyway, today's boring so far, and yeah, that's pretty much it. The fires are still in the distance, but I think (hope) the worst is done in my area, so that's a good thing. :p
