I'm guessing they just named the characters in the screen shot Black 2 and Rival? I don't know why people didn't go for that as temporary PC names and resorted to using "Blaze" and "Sparkles"

About the names, I'll be calling the rival Spike until they reveal his true name. Don't care about the player characters.

For the rival, a couple of sentences are new. They go something like this.
"What could the reason for his passionate thoughts be? As the older brother he keeps the thoughts of his little sister close."

This sentence makes me hope there's more depth to his character, and that we'll find out in this generation rather than waiting two generations to learn stuff about our past rivals *coughSilvercough*
I know this seems morbid, but saying "the thoughts of his little sister" makes me think she's dead D:
(Or maybe had parents who divorced and one took the sister away...)

I'm just hoping he's multi-dimensional. I don't see why he can't be derp and deep.

The girl isn't wearing a skirt. She's actually wearing shorts, but the shorts are frilly. You can see what looks like a pant leg

Betting Homika has a Koffing. I just noticed the stage in the background shows Koffing (better view in the Vs. sprite image)
EDIT: I think this is a detail most people would have missed since it's at the front page and requires you to scroll around:
We have our first tanned character, and as far as I know, Homika is our first freckled character. Nice to see Game Freak being less generic.

Homika is awesome and badass. Everything about her. And it's been since the first games we've had a poison specialist, despite they having gotten stronger.
I'm looking forward to see both her gym and her involvement with the story. Probably the character I'm happier about.
The water gym dude though... he is from an overdone gym type, and looks like a generic surfer swimmer guy. I mean, when even Brawly stands out more than you, there is a problem.
I hope there's finally a Dark gym, because otherwise I'm going to blame him having taken up the spot.

I think I have to agree with you on this part. These doesn't seem to be something great for a particular character, and I think he also looks the part of an antagonist. If he's not for some reason, well, we have another curveball.

Of the two, Homika is easily the more intruiging. I said so in the anime forum, but as the presumed 'first gym leader' of the game, it's pretty cool that we're getting a more colourful leader right off the bat, compared to the past ones like Brock, Roark and co, who were always considerably more 'normal' in contrast to the rest.
Plus, Scolipede guitar is rockin'.
Not really all that fond of Shizui though. Just looks like your regular swimmer dude to me, which is a bit of a step back from the last water type user, a friggin' luchadore of all things. Big shoes to fill there.

So now I looked at the clear scan of Unova BW2! and tried to count the Cities we encounter !And it seems pretty linear again!
Starter town, town to get to know the game(with a little plot),long route, Water gym leader town,underwater tunnel, Castelia, chaos on route 4, Nimbasa, Driftveil, Mistralton flying to East unova city with Poison girl gym, than heading to route 12 and Village bridge and than to Opelucid city!
*Think the water gym will be full of Tympole!
*Eventually I can see Hokomoki take over Nimbasa, cause it's a city for stars and Elesa could on tour!
The only thing bugging me is WHY reveal all the new GL so "soon" ? there must be coming some new stuff and something else!
