Clever Pokémon Nicknames

Re: Pokemon Nicknames! What have you named your team and what meanings do the names h

I have no idea. xD Knowing my friend, it could've been either.

Re: Pokemon Nicknames! What have you named your team and what meanings do the names h

I've raised 100+ Pokémon to level 100, with many more to train

I nickname all those Pokémon

I nickname all the wild ones I catch too

I am not listing all the names of my Pokémon XD

Although I like the name of my Spiritomb, Catalyst, and the name is due to its ability pressure.

Re: Pokemon Nicknames! What have you named your team and what meanings do the names h

Lol, I like all the nicknames, they're so creative!

I usually name them after fictional characters that I like, for example, Boba Fett, Yoda, Tuvok, Arwen, Pippin, Clark Kent, etc

Re: Pokemon Nicknames! What have you named your team and what meanings do the names h

Most of my Pokemon on Diamond are nicknamed, but I don't as much anymore. On my Platinum game, none of my Pokemon have nicknames (I find it easier to organize them that way). I was browsing through my boxes and found these nicknames:

Hippowdon named Sandblastr
Silcoon named Tutankamun
Ponyta named Annoying >
Meditite named Geller (as in Uri Geller, the magician/psychic)
Zubat named FuFu (a character from a children's show)
Fearow named Frightful (a character's hawk from My Side of the Mountain)
Onix named Terra (Latin for earth)
Starly named G (I think that a friend caught and named this one)
A Magikarp named Annoyance!
A Chimchar from the GTS with a Japanese name (that I can't read)
A Tentacool named Aquastone
A Tentacruel named Tinny (not Timmy, Tinny)
A Gastrodon named Smearly (no clue what I was thinking then)

Re: Pokemon Nicknames! What have you named your team and what meanings do the names h

Some of my wierd ones i made when i first started. Back then, a pokemon could not go un-nicknamed, unless i was going to release it or something.
1. I named my mankey Cell
2. I named my eevee hike
3. Any other pokemons nicknames would end in either -ey or -er(example, rattata, biter. gastly, gassey, etc)

Re: Pokemon Nicknames! What have you named your team and what meanings do the names h

I've named a few of mine, let's see what I can remember -

Ruby - Terry Pratchett style naming of my rock pokémon after minerals or rocks
Newton - Magneton, no real reason why
Cassie - Starmie, after Cassiopeia. Star-Constellation, get it?

Re: Pokemon Nicknames! What have you named your team and what meanings do the names h

I nickname each and every one of my Pokémon. I dunno... I just put whatever comes to my mind. I always nickname my first Umbreon "Blacky", though. I know it is the Japanese name. I just think it's very cute xD

Re: Pokemon Nicknames! What have you named your team and what meanings do the names h

I nearly never give mine nicknames, because i'm horrible at making original nicknames. I have a few:

A Pachirisu named Arceus for lolz
An Ampharos named Gigavolt because I thought it was a cool name for Amphy
A Porygon-Z named Psyduck because I wanted to have something else than all those usual ones like "Windows", "Virus", "Trojan", etc..
An Azelf named Ass Elf.
A female Machop named "Just Wrong"
A Bagon (soon to be Salamence) named "LOL UBER :D"
A female Poliwhirl named "mnlyenuf2b" and then the female thingy xD
A Rayquaza named Azauqyar.. awesome, I know

Awesome nicknames ftw

Re: Pokemon Nicknames! What have you named your team and what meanings do the names h

I usually name them after the soundtrack I'm listening that moment, or after some random ideas that come into my mind.

Re: Pokemon Nicknames! What have you named your team and what meanings do the names h

Nicknames I've given:

MY TEAM:

Empoleon - Mumble (after the Happy Feet character.)
Luxray - Nala (after the Lion King character.)
Drifblim - Fantina (after Fantina herself - she dresses like a Drifblim!)
Quagsire - Woot (I find it funny.)
Weavile - Snowy (it's an Ice Pokemon, so the name would fit fine.)
Roserade - Rosalia (I wanted to use Rosalie, but then came the mean girl in that dreckfest Twilight, so I used Rosalia, the Italian form.)

BONUS:

=Whenever I catch a Pokemon I don't want, I name it a curse word or sexual term.
-I always name my Magikarp "Doy".
-I once named a Sentret "Jesus"!
