Alolan Grimer makes me start lose interest in the whole Alola variant idea, it's starting to feel rather forced or Idk.. lack of imagination or something. I've read comments that this may be a way to give Kanto Pokemon more Dark representation, since it's been quite a few of those now, and I like the sound of that, but.. ah, this continuation of apparent Kanto favoritism is getting a bit old still. I like Kanto, but I want to see other regions being represented too.
It's kind of an overkill of Dark, too, considering Steel wasn't introduced until Gen 2 either and the only pokemon retconned with Steel-type then was Magnemite. And I guess there's Onix's evolution, too... but it's still under-represented in Gen 1. Alolan Sandshrew's primary Ice-type rather hides the fact that it's even supposedly Steel, either so... as far as filling in holes, it definitely seems like too much focus on the Dark-types, to me.
There must be something awful wrong with Alola to have this many Kanto pokemon corrupted with the supposed "evil" type.
