Don't you just hate it when people disconnect mid-battle?

One of the biggest things that irk me is when people disconnect mid-battle intentionally! And no, it's not about connection problems. That's understandable.
Thing is they are about to lose, and their 3rd Pokemon has almost fainted with your last attack! You think "YES! Hard fought battle...one more victory added in my Link Battle Wins stat!" and then...BAM! "Communication with the other trainer interrupted!"
I mean...what the heck man!! Be a man and face your defeat. But no, they want YOU to lose the battle in the process too. Communication Interruption is recorded as a loss for both sides!
I happen to face this issue several times in the battle spot online.
I have lost many battles too and I go down chin up! I don't disconnect so that even the victor may suffer!
Has such incident ever happened to you guys? Share your thoughts about it if you have! :D
Sorry for the rant, but yeah this is a real issue out there! :(

Well, good for you mate. It did happen a lot of times with me. Especially most japanese players are such perfectionists they want to win no matter what. They disconnect without a second thought. Just my experience. So far I have fought almost 200 battles at Battle Spot.

It reminds me when doing the spooky cup in Pokemon Global Link last October and I was battling someone who is 100 points higher then I was. I managed to knock out one of his Pokemon and weaken two others, I had Rotom use hydro pump on the Sableye slot and when he switched into his Marrowak to take out my Drapeion, Rotom knocked out the Marrowak on switch in and he turned off his 3DS because I predicted the switch.

Yeah, they probably didn't like the idea that you outsmarted them in a 'game' which is supposed to be fun and where anything can go as far as result is concerned.

Reminds me of the time I predicted a Serperior switch against my Starmie and one-shotted it with an Analytic Ice Beam. I was surprised that the guy kept going.

Yeah, I would keep going too :D Such situations help us learn and plan next time accordingly. I don't like pokemon like Azumarill and Breloom, I prefer dragons, but those two are extremely powerful when used correctly. I have been defeated by them many times, now I finally own both of them myself with killer moves :D

I find it incredibly frustrating when this happens because I tend to use a lot of non-standard and lower tier mon and I don't have one set team. It means I lose at least as often as I win, but makes the wins that much more satisfying when I defeat teams full of the standard same old Suicune, Cresselia, Gengar, Garchomp etc etc

So when I'm winning and they rage quit out (happens quite frequently, though not always by communication error) that's a real slap in the face to the hard work and effort I've put in to breeding and raising these 'mon.

Even when I'm losing and I know there's no way I can win, I never quit early out of respect for the other player (except I'll occasionally concede defeat early if I'm stuck against a stall team, but never by forced communication error).

Yes same here! If I run into a stall team like Chansey and stuff, I forfeit. It's just a waste of time. But as you said, no rage quit by comm.error, that's just bad manners and salty attitude. Once I was caught in an almost 30 min bout against a stall team double battle of chansey, blissey, audino and shuckle. My pokemon defeated them, but heck that was long, I was afraid the trainer might rage quit after I KO his final Pokemon Chansey but she didn't. I'm so glad, respect to the trainer!
