Review DP161: The Curtain Rises! Pokémon Contest - Asatsuki Tournament!!

Yeah but since 5-year-old Kenny came up with the name, it's unlikely a 5-year-old would even know what an LED is.

Yeah but since 5-year-old Kenny came up with the name, it's unlikely a 5-year-old would even know what an LED is.

Then again, this is a TV show where a prepetually poor Team Rocket is somehow able to scrounge enough money to obtain "weapons of mass destruction" on almost a daily basis, and judging by how immersed in technology kids are these days (Japanese children moreso), It wouldn't be that huge of a strech to have a 5 year-old know about LEDs to make a pun on them and make it work.

That or they could retcon the pun to something else more "sparkly" friendly.

Man, Jessie's appeals get weirder everyday. But I guess that's what makes it so unique. It was definitely better than Dawn's, which was very standard, and Ursula's, which was OK. I couldn't actually see the big deal in Dawn's backstory but it kinda makes sense.

Also, does everything have to sparkle in a contest? It's like the default special effect for attacks colliding in a contest while it's explosions in a battle.
