Fortunately, the Legitimate Businessman's Alliance developed a force field to stop the kaiju

Unfortunately, the kaiju shot a laser that destroyed the forcefield.

Fortunately Japan must have developed a large number of anti-Kaiju weapons ('cause you know, Kaiju only attack Japan for some reason) and so deployed them all to destroy this particular Kaiju

Unfortunately, the Kaiju decided to move to New Zealand instead.

Actually, not really. Kaijus don't really just attack Japan, in spite of what stereotypes say. (Example: In Destroy All Monsters, among the many places brainwashed kaijus attacked were Beijing, Paris, New York City, etc.) Heck, King Kong and Cloverfield are considered to be Kaijus too.

Fortunately a group of dwarves on a quest with a hobbit were fully prepared to deal with large dangerous creatures, and so knew exactly how to deal with the Kaiju

Unfortunately, something shiny distracted everyone and everything in the universe at the exact same time, which caused total chaos for some reason.

Unfortunately, that particular shiny thing was only one or many.

Fortunately, it turned out to be a mere population of Shiny Dunsparce, and they all flew away.

Unfortunately a group of trainers found the shiny Dunsparce and captured them all, only because they were shiny and never planning to use them, therebby rendering them trapped in tiny spherical prisons for the rest of time.
