Eh . . . To be honest it kind of bothers me how much they look like Team Galactic members, but whatevs. It doesn't bother me THAT much. What bothers me more is that the Giovanni/Mars drama is no longer likely, which means Silver and Roark probably aren't half-brothers. =X Damn.

Well Byron could do naughty with that female >>; It is possible because Jasmine can go to Sinnoh, so why not? :/ There is still chance of them being half-brothers

I feel I have to point out that the incense items aren't absolutely necessary anymore from a logical standpoint - I've been assuming for a while that they'd phase them out in Gen. V, but there's no reason they couldn't just say "no more incense needed" in HGSS, either. They were introduced in Gen. III as an explanation or why those "baby" Pokémon didn't appear in earlier versions, and that strategy worked then. But the mechanic backfired in DPPt, for two reasons: there were way too many of them, with a few of them being incredibly similar and easily mistaken for each other; plus the fact there were now "baby" Pokémon wandering around in the wild, where logically they could not possibly have hatched if incense were necessary to produce their eggs. The whole incense retcon has just gotten silly, and I think Game Freak is to the point in the series where they've realized that unexplained continuity changes are going to happen no matter what, and that as long as they do a good enough job on everything else, we'll be able to deal with that.

So because of that, I'm not taking a side on what's causing the numbering issue for now - it could be "babies", it could be move-based evolutions, it could be rearrangement, it could be any combination of the three.

EDIT: I just finished writing down what the Rocket in PokéTerra's SS demo video said (which took a while since they were going through it really quickly), and I'll probably have it translated in a bit.

EDIT 2: It may take a while, since it seems that this TR member uses an Osaka dialect...urgh.

EDIT 3: Okay, so I'm about as done as I'll ever be - there's some contractions and constructions I'm not used to, so this isn't an exact translation, but a rough reading (as close to the original as I can manage) that preserves the gist of what's being said:

(While talking to the Kimono Girl): Yo yo! What's with the dainty not-dancing? Let's see you try the hula! If you say you won't, I won't be able to stand it. Hey, can't you take your customers' orders? What, do I have to show you how? Fine, I'll be a model of gorgeous dance! Dwaaahahaha! (starts spinning)

(When the player talks to him): Hey, what do you want with me and my groove?

(End of battle): I lost...

(After battle): Wait, I'm just a villain! ...Not good! Being exposed from dallying and teasing here forces me to brush up on the grunts' grunt's most important maneuver! A quick escape is victory!

Good to know that the grunts are as funny as ever, at least. XD

Agree. At least on Ampharos. Though it's not a dragon, it somehow resembles one (not to mention its Japanese name copntainin the word "ryuu"), adn as you justs aid, it learns a powerful dragon type attack. So I support this. Totally.

On the dialogue by TR grunt, sure looks funny to me. The part where he says "can't you take your customers' orders?" references the nature of Geisha, and thus, the "Geisha apprentice" term fits right. For that reason, as the Geisha Apprentices are known as Kimono Girls outside Japan, they might change the dialogue. Or either rename the KG with their original, Japanese trainer class name.

I don't see why they'd need to - even if they're not called geisha, it's pretty clear they're performers in that vein, and the Rocket's dialogue would just make that more clear.
 
No one seems to get the thing with dragonites, they were supposed to be like the "three trials" dragonite that had fire blast, thunder and blizzard (although it'd be harder if they knew the elemental punches) I think they're better off just replacing Lance if they want for him to focus more on Gen II pokemon.

Holy moley those girls are so... I wonder if the european versions will cut them out just like they did with the slots. If they dont approve of mild gambling content why would they approve of female escorts

Geisha aren't escorts, not even in the real world, and they never were - it's a common misconception.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how the translators handle that, because my literal translation isn't nearly as funny as the original. Attitude is a lot easier to pick up from written Japanese than written English, and he was putting on a big tough-guy act (despite the hula-ing) until he got beat, when he got a lot more polite. XD Not to mention the use of the Osaka dialect, the one most often used humorously in Japan.

I was really tempted to use "gruntiest of the grunts", which I'm sure I've heard used in Pokémon before, and was definitely the meaning behind "shitappa no shitappa" (したっぱの　したっぱ in the video), but I couldn't work it in as well.

What about the Yellow Forest in Pokewalker, Filb says that Pikachu caught there might have special moves, and in that movie when the Japanese girl shows you the picture, in the background there is a Flying Pikachu (held up by balloons). Poke Walker looks so awesome, it is going to make HGSS awesome.
 
A Flying Pikachu using ballons? Reminds me of Yellow Versions' intro... would be nice, though I wonder how will it be depicted when you use it as a field move.
 
All i want is if the pikachu is a flying pikachu then it better have a floating baloon OW.
 
Flying pikachu is awesomeness. My sister will be definitely getting HGSS now, lol. XD
I hope they have a special animation like in PBR, altho I don't see this happening, especially if they do this with other Pokemon with special moves.

Talking of moves, I'd like to see a few more move tutors this game. Platinum's were cool, but I'd like to see some Pokemon (the Johto starters for instance) getting wider movepools.
