Gym leaders/ Pokémon League

Games support this too.

but regardless, we shouldn't take old positions into account. jasmine hands us the mineral badge, a badge that represents your victory against the aforementioned steel-type gym leader. as for the fighting dojo, it doesn't matter either; you don't get a badge from there.

The worst thing in the world would be to see repeats of Gyms we just had in DP.

Why? Because some Gyms were repeats of the ones in RSE. I honestly thought last gen would mimic Gen II -- take what previously didn't exist and make it into a Gym.

And yet, we got another Rock, Water, Fighting, and Electric Gym (though thankfully the other 4 were fresh).

My preference this time, if we are indeed sticking with the Type-theme, is to see the other less used Types. This basically means Ground (which hasn't had a 'proper' representative, unless you feel Giovanni counts), Dark (which of course has never had representation), Poison and Dragon (who've only had 1 Gym for their kind). Everything else is an overlap. But as long as those overlaps aren't Water, Rock, Water, or Fighting, it'll be fine!

Of course, my real wish is like everyone else's: to see a new spin on the concept of "Leaders" and what tactics they employ. A weather trainer; an ability trainer; a status ailment trainer; a stats trainer; etc. etc.

Don't know if this has been posted before, probably has, but just for reference,

Normal- 2, Whitney and Norman, Gen II and III
Fire- 2, Blaine and Flannery, Gen I and III
Water- 3, Misty, Wallace/Juan, and Wake, Gen I, III, and IV
Grass- 2, Erika and Natane, Gen I and IV
Electric- 3, Surge, Wattson, and Volkner, Gen I, III, and IV
Psychic- 2, Sabrina and Liza & Tate, Gen I and III
Ice- 2, Pryce and Candice, Gen II and IV
Dragon- 1, Claire, Gen II
Dark- 0
Fighting- 3(4), Chuck, Brawley and Maylene (Koichi), Gen II, III and IV (I) Dojo really doesn't count, but does have the same basic setup as a gym.
Flying- 2, Falkner and Winona, Gen II and III
Poison- 1, Koga/Janine, Gen I
Ground- 1, Giovanni, Gen I (ehh)
Rock- 3, Brock, Roxanne and Roark, Gen I, III, and IV
Bug- 1, Bugsy, Gen II
Ghost- 2, Morty and Melissa, Gen II and IV
Steel- 2, Jasmine and Tougan, Gen II and IV

And one gym with mixed types, but that's just a Kanto gen II thing, but I could honestly see them doing it again if the pokemon go along some other theme.

So Dark I'd love, Dragon, Poison, Ground, and Bug have barely been represented, so those would work too. As for ones that have already had 2 gyms, I'd rather them be the ones that didn't have a gym in gen IV. Those are Normal, Flying, Fire, and Psychic. So those are 9 types, easily workable.

As for types I definitely do not want to see, Rock, Electric, Ghost and Steel. Water's been over represented too, so keeping that out til gen VI wouldn't be awful. Same with Fighting since in a way there's been a fighting gym each gen.

We had a Fighting Gym in gen IV (Maylene). And you listed 10 types. Take Fighting out and we have 9 including Fire and Psychic. So best case scenario we get Dark, Ground, Poison, Bug, Dragon, Normal, Flying, and either a Fire or Psychic Gym. Worst case scenario, we get another Rock Gym. I hate to jinx it, but... we're probably getting a Rock Gym. :banghead:

Dark and Ground types deserves recognition in Black and white. Dark has been featured like 0 times... And ground has been featured in RBGY. But I never thought of Giovanni as a ground type gym leader.

I really dislike the thought of another dragon type gym leader because dragons are supposed to be rare, but Clair was an exception...

same. we've had lance for both kanto and johto, clair, and drake. :\

as for another ground-type gym leader, hopefully aroe will take that position.

the evidence shown on the isshu map has led me to believe that it is unlikely we'll get a poison-type gym leader this time around. it'd be nice if i were wrong though. i wish we had another poison-type specialist.

I'm confused, how did the map prove we wouldn't get one?

Oops, forgot about poison type, it's greatly under represented... But I don't see what you mean, how's the map evidence that we won't have one?

most buildings that "stand out" have certain characteristics we can relate to types. :p for example, the tower near the airfield could represent the flying-type, while the cave with icy flowers could represent the ice-type. the city that changes appearances has a big black building in it, which could represent the dark-type. the white, plain building could represent the normal/steel-type... though i didn't take into consideration the three cities/towns we can't see on the map.

Ummm Fortree City has a flying gym... But there are trees so it should've had a grass gym. Canalave should've gotten water... Hearthome should've gotten normal... No, that's completely irrelevant. And, I realize there's a fire gym in Lavaridge and electric gym in Sunyshore....
And besides, we know that there is a bug typed gym, but there are no bug looking cities...

birds live in the trees, so Fortree made sense.

And Canalave was the access point to Iron Island.

So it does sort of flow.

that's because the past gyms didn't have unique appearances. and i'm not talking about their surroundings; i'm talking about their design, what they look like.

I'd want a Fire/Water/Grass/Electric Elite 4, with a Mixed Champion.

I can dream can't I?

Gyms

  1. normal (has potential and way better than rock)
  2. poison (dont have 1 since gen 1 (johto doesnt count))
  3. fire
  4. ground (till giovanni no other ground gym leader)
  5. dark (will be better half way through than last gym)
  6. steel
  7. psychic (I want sabrina like gym leader tate&liza didnt cut it)
  8. dragon (with many more dragons it is time for another gym)

Elite 4

  1. electric (it is time for an elite 4)
  2. steel
  3. fighting
  4. ghost (not sure about this 1)
  5. champ:mixed of course

Above is my list but all i really want the gym leaders to be better than normal trainers. They should have attacks to counter the obvious threats based on their weaknesses. and some 1 else suggested they do something besides sitting on their asses which is true. 1 more thing they should at least have the same level as the players pokemon.

Steel types? And two of them? I'm kinda sick of dealing with them in the last three generations, just like how they did it with Juan and Wallace for water. But I welcome the idea of another ground-type gym.

well my idea for elite four is:
1. Normal Type, female, named Suala(play on the word usual)
she has all the rodent pokemon including gen v's rodent pokemon
ex- raticate,furret,linonne,bibarel,(gen v rodent)

2.Flying Type,male named Brent(from the word Breeze)
uses all the main bird pokemon including gen v's
ex-pidgeot,noctowl,swellow,staraptor,(gen v bird)

3.Rock Type, female named Anina (from the word antique and Nina)
uses fossil pokemon from each generation including gen v's
ex- omastar, armaldo, rampardos, aerodactyl, (one of the gen v's fossil)

4.Water Type, male, named Traiden (from the words trade and rain)
uses water pokemon that evolve when traded
ex-politoed,huntail,slowking,kindra,(new water pokemon)

Champion. Mixed Types, female, named Lidia (from linda and diadem)
uses only pseudo legendaries including the gen v one
ex-dragonite,metagross,tyranitar,salamence,grachomp,(gen v pseudo)

haha my ideas are weird, doubt it will ever happen tho'

Might be possible in post-national dex, I really doubt this happening on the first battles.

With the map of Isshu, I think that the gyms will be :

Gym 1 : Fire (Aloe)
Gym 2 : Ground
Gym 3 : Psychic
Gym 4 : Electric
Gym 5 : Bug
Gym 6 : Flying
Gym 7 : Ice
Gym 8 : Dark

Hoping for a poison and/or steel gym. Koga/Janine and Jasmine shouldn't be the only gym leaders to utilize these types! IMO.. I would prefer NOT to see another electric gym.
