Preview HZ052: Kaiden, High Wind Warning!

I mean, yeah, but you can say that about all of Gohs mons who evolved except scorbunny
Maybe but the point was still about how just because a Pokémon is barely used doesn’t mean the writers won’t evolve it and it’s pretty much the biggest example for that for a Pokémon that wasn’t just a background fixture.

And heck, how Chamander evolved into Charmeleon and especially Charizard just like snaps fingers that.

Becsuse it wanted to beat up Aerodactyl. Yeah level up evolution in anime is less on actual training/experience and more on storytelling.

However, unnoticed by them all, a shadow draws near...

Oooh, this synopsis is definitely giving off “Roy realizes that he’s been neglecting Wattrel and giving Fuecoco more attention and favoritism in terms of training without even realizing it or meaning to” vibes.

After all, the last episode from last week with Brassius made it clear that Roy’s biggest flaw for his development as a trainer is his single-mindedness and his tunnel vision when it comes to his battle strategy’s and training- ergo, not just focusing on trying to fight ina battle instead of strategizing and planning, but also ignoring that he needs to make sure to give all of his team the attention they needs instead of just getting wrapped up in how well one specific Pokémon is doing.
