I have no way of knowing if any of those ship names/character combinations are taken (I'd be surprised if the name "AnubisShipping" hasn't been taken already), so unless I know the place to look up the most recent shipping name suggestions besides this thread, I'll most likely have posted dupes of existing pairs by now.

Also I noticed that both "EletricDiamondShipping" and "EletricStyleShipping" are spelt without the first "c" as in the word "electric". I don't remember if this was intentional or not.

Great question! Both of these names were made by BubChan on SPPF in 2014 -- this post and this post. The names on the list are a faithful reproduction of what BubChan wrote and they've been on the list for several years now, but it's entirely possible that BubChan habitually misspelled "electric" and it was ignored or not caught.

I'm assuming whoever submitted the ship was referring to Benny Demario since both he and Casey appeared in the same episode.

Thank you very much for pointing out these names! Just a note, however, capitalization is generally low priority (and subjective! I could definitely see someone argue RainburstShipping is capitalized as intended) because it doesn't affect ctrl+F searching, but I really appreciate you looking things over! As for RainbowShipping, this was a known issues when it was accepted and I discussed it in that post. I'll quote:

It looks like the Ash & Verity community ended up using the name RainbowShipping. This really isn't preferable as it conflicts with two pairings on the list, both of which date back to at least 2004. One of them is Brock & Molly, a five year old from M03. The other is one of several names for Red x Blue/Green. While this name seems to be older than OriginalShipping and NamelessShipping (and there are nuances between these exact characters), both of those names are used far more. The RainbowShipping name has apparently been largely discarded since at least 2012 as this comment would indicate. I really don't like trampling on an old name for a major pairing like this, especially one as historic as Red x Green, essentially the proto-PalletShipping. But whether I put it on this list or not, far more people today use RainbowShipping for Ash x Verity than Red x Green. It's going to be added, but I don't think I've ever felt so hesitant to add a name with this much real-world usage. The community really bailed itself out by the skin of its teeth.

In short, while I didn't really like accepting the duplicate, I didn't feel there was much choice as the name already picked up steam. I'm aware of the vast majority of duplicates (many of them, especially anything noted with a slash, originated before my time) but I really do appreciate people pointing things out when they find them. You're welcome ! Having to constantly check the first page for about a month with Ctrl+F inevitably catches those oddities and being out of the shipping scene for so long made me wonder if something was in place for that since I left. Glad to know the current consensus on this.

I'd also suggest avoiding SV name submissions altogether until January 1st. By then most people will have gotten to know the characters a little better, so I feel like it'd be best to hold off until then, just to be sure it's fair to everyone. I was gonna apply the same logic to the Official Claim threads as well.

It's also possible some SV ship names with actual real-world usage could spring up around the fanbase on their own during that time, which I think could make things a bit easier later down the line.

PLA names have finally been added! Please note that for right now this mostly only includes names with verified real-world usage. There have been a significant volume of created names submitted recently for PLA characters and given the volume and uncertainty, I'm making a mass deferment on those names.

ive been looking for hop/marnie content and the ship lists ive found list them as DoubleSweetRivalShipping, but i can find barely any content for that. however ive seen at least a bit more under WyndonShipping. on tumblr, the doublesweetrivalshipping tag has only one post, while the wyndonshipping tag has about a page, with a variety of different people populating it. i havent found anything on twitter under doublesweetrivalshipping, but there was one person using wyndonshipping. and while i dont use much other social media sites, a quick google search of doublesweetrivalshipping comes up with barely anything, and wyndonshipping, while still not much, does have noticeably more results

in situations like these, would the name be changed on this list, or the alternative added as well, or something of the sort? or is it a matter of whatever the first name coined is? hop/marnie doesnt have much content as is, but the official name appears to have a lot less content than the alternative ive found used. what happens in a situation like this?

Given its popularity, WyndonShipping will be added to the list. However, given some minimal real-world usage, DoubleSweetRivalShipping will be removed to the alternates section of the untouchables if and when that returns instead of removed outright.

May I request changes for my own names? January 2021, I named the Brawly/Grimsley/Marlon pairing RevaniShipping. It's not a popular pairing in general it seems (I don't get any hits other than here), but I took fancy to a name that fit them more thematically since they all love the ocean. I wanted to go with PuraVidaShipping! I'd love to hear if this is a possible change.

This change has been made. However, from this update forwards, I'm formally abolishing the two-updates rule. Once a name has been accepted onto the list, no more change requests will be accepted.

While IlexPromiseShipping was submitted and added to the list for Goh/Horace, not long after Horace's first episode, the ship has since gained more traction as Horace became a more prominent character, and I've noticed a high use of the name TimelessPromiseShipping for them. Would it be possible to either replace the initial ship name or have both?

The name has been changed, as the TimelessPromiseShipping name is very popular and the original submitter made this request.

This is absolutely wild. SmoothieShipping was named on this list as Trip x Hazel by SerenaForTheWin on SPPf on July 10 2014. But what you're mentioning, though not widespread, is apparently a name for Jessie x Wendy. The earliest mention I can find is April 29 2005, and the latest is October 2006. I honestly don't know what to do with this one. SmoothieShipping as Trip x Hazel was accepted generations ago before my involvement, but perhaps SmoothieShipping as Jessie x Wendy should've been on the list in the first place. I'll look into it more but this is definitely a curious case.

Ultimately, there are likely hundreds if not thousands of names that were created 10+ years ago and never added to the list as they were never submitted. I'd consider adding SmoothieShipping as Jessie x Wendy to a section of the untouchables at some point, but the main list won't be changed. The FruitSmoothieShipping will be used instead.

I do agree that more time is needed for this to settle and I'm definitely not going to make a decision on this right now. I'll revisit this issue at the next update and either make some sort of change, decline a change, or defer again.

As I said I might, I'm deferring on the Emmet x Evelyn name issue right now.

A few more notes: SyncPairShipping and CentraShipping are deferred as they deal with major characters in Masters and neither have real-world usage. It's possible their pairings just aren't shipped but I'm erring on caution with this one.

NymphaeaShipping - Chloe & Misty is deferred for a similar reason. I can find evidence of people specifically not shipping Chloe and Misty, so a supportive community somewhere isn't out of the question.

GreatestTreasureShipping - Florian & Juliana is rejected due to involving SV characters and the protagonists, no less.

Finally, ReverseSurfaceShipping - Volo & Zero is also deferred as it deals with a potentially active pairing and more research is needed.
