Well, I live in a more or less rural area, with quite a lot of forests. In relation to the city about 20 km away, it's probably what Pallet Town is to Viridian. It actually even looks a bit like Pallet would, so this would probably mean Pokémon you find on early routes and in forests/grasslands. And perhaps also a few more urban ones.
I live in Southampton, on the south coast of the UK, on the edge of the New Forest. I've always pictured the New Forest to be home to all the grass type starters, plus most bird pokemon. Southampton I would say would be like Celadon or Goldenrod; a big city with loads of shops and entertainment. I live on the outskirts of Southampton in a town called Totton, which I've always likened to Violet or Oreburgh in size. I'd also like to think the Forest harbors unusual, rare sightings of possible Legendary pokemon, like Mew or Cresselia.
I live in Puerto Rico, so i have no idea. It's very hot here in these tropical island, so if you got any opinions, please reply to this. But from what i can pitch out, this are the following:

I live in a city. But the part that I live in has lots of trees. I also live right by a huge cemetery that has no buildings. Just trees and headstones. And the city is by a lake.
