Both humans and other Pokemon have said that they wish they had pre- and postcognition such as I. They say this because they are ignorant of what a burden my abilities truly are.
A good example are the visions I see everyday when I wake up in the morning and view the sun. My left eye shows me the sun as it once was - nothing but glittering space dust in an endless sea of darkness. But then I see the dust begin to gather together and glow brightly - the sun is born, and the rest of the solar system is soon to follow. It is a brief (though I know that this process actually took eons), but beautiful scene.
But my right eye shows the opposite; it shows the sun as old and decrepit, hanging in the sky above a barren landscape. I see it suddenly turn as red as blood. Is see its redness fill the entire sky…and then I see the land burnt to nothingness by it. I then see it cast off its redness and become a tiny white speck before burning out forever.
This happens every morning - I am forced to see the birth and death of our sun as well as the end of our world. Unlike some disturbing visions I have had about the future, I know it to be inevitable. The sun and our world must die like everything else, and there is nothing you nor I may do about it.
It is not only the sun that triggers these visions. If I were to look at the ground, I would simultaneously see the birth of the planet from dust cast off from the new sun and its destruction that I described earlier. When I see the moon at night, I see it splitting off from the earth while at the same time meeting the same fate as our world. To my knowledge, there is no way for me to block these visions. It is in this way that my abilities are more of a curse.
Even moreso is that these visions I have described are not the worst ones I have. No, there are far worse things that I see that cause me to stand in place all day, paralyzed with fear - some of which I know to be inevitable.
…I guess it is best I do not describe the visions I have whenever I lay eyes on a human.
Xatu - Xatu stands rooted and still in one spot all day long. People believe that this Pokémon does so out of fear of the terrible things it has foreseen in the future. (Ruby)
As many of you know, the Pokémon Rotom is capable of entering in and possessing ordinary appliances. In order for this to work, the item must have a motor and be a type of motor-driven object that Rotom is familiar with and able to take on the form of.
Given Rotom’s popularity as a Pokémon, and the fact that so many people here love to discuss forme changes and possibilities, I guess it’s surprising that no one wants to talk about all of Rotom’s formes. I found it out on my own, too, so I guess it’s a personal discovery if you do find it.
Game Freak designed Rotom so that when it is caught, and only when it is caught, you can have it possess certain, specific “objects” in the game that are motor-driven. Just not computer ones, like the PC or Wii. There is, however, one exception to this, where Rotom can possess a circuitboard appliance.
A DS-Rotom is obtainable after you’ve captured Rotom in-game. This forme does nothing in-game and does not appear in-game, so it is essentially useless from the game’s perspective. It does have a few interesting traits, though. If you’ve ever caught or obtained a Rotom, you have this forme. You’ll never “see it”, per se, but it’s always there, creating mischief and havoc in your DS. If you no longer want this forme, to kill it, simply let your DS battery run out. It’s an interesting forme, but I can understand why no one talks about it.
