But Farfetch'd hadn't gotten enough development yet to evolve. It learning to trust Ash and learning Detect were steps in the right direction.

Scyther has done less than Galarfetch'd. If someone is undeserving of an evolution, its Scyther (We have seen in a slideshow that Ash at least used Galarfetch'd in some PWC matches off-screen).

Ash uses his Pokémon more in battles than Goh does. And Scyther's evolution method isn't based on battling, unlike with Farfetch'd.

Ash didn't have a Pokémon that could be evolved instantaneously. Plus, Scyther's evolution is a Steel type, Wikstrom's speciality, so it made sense for him to have a Metal Coat on hand.

I think farfetchd got another possible future ep where he may b the primary focus and then evolution would b felt earned
