It was. That was literally all Boltund got for an appearance. A two second shot of its head. That's what I meant when I said it got done dirty, in that it got literally nothing.

Heck, only two of those aren't caught by a trainer, Lechonk and Armarouge... but i bet Armarouge is there because its a counterpart to Ceruledge and Pawmi is the Pikaclone, so has that mandatory spot on the calender.

At most, it would be an off-screen evolution for one of his Pokemon, or a new move learned by one them instead (or both.) And I could definitely see either of those things happening because they've both happened before.

I don't think that they'd need to bring back the PWC just to justify Ash making a return for a couple of episodes or so. He's already traveling off-screen, so it wouldn't be a stretch or impossible that he could run into Liko and Roy while they travel around the world too.

We don't really know that for sure though. As far as I can tell, there hasn't been any indication that Horizons is set in a brand new continuity. Having no references to previous series or mentions of previous characters doesn't automatically mean new continuity. Horizons can easily be a stand alone series set within the same continuity of the other anime series. It would not be hard to do something like that. Even if Horizons is set in another continuity, I don't think that would mean Ash could never appear either. They've had Ash go into different worlds before, so I don't think that would necessarily be a huge issue either.

Some of them are probably just random mon choices.
I struggle to see how a pokemon stuck in the ground like wiglett would work as a permanent pokemon.
sometimes this stuff means something other times it means absolutley nothing, its wacky like that.

I feel like toy sets like these are always a mixed bag when it comes to whether or not the Pokémon featured are relevant. I remember a Darkest Day toy set they released that featured Sirfetch’d and Eevee, who were obviously not present at that point.

A starter like Sprigatito evolving so soon isn’t exactly unprecedented but I feel like Horizons has generally been taking a slower approach when it comes to big development like that. Wiglett and Tatsugiri feel like throw-ins.

I think Charcadet could end up being important given the fact that Amethio has Ceruledge and they might want to show off Armarouge at some point. Though, you would assume they would give Armarouge to Liko considering Amethio is the one chasing her so her having the contrasting evolution of his ace would make sense. But Liko has had two party-changes in a fairly short timeframe, assuming Terapagos does end up under her ownership officially and is not just traveling with her, so it seems a little soon for another capture. Though this could just be teasing something down the road, or again, it could just be a random selection. Charcadet seems pretty marketable to me given it being both cute and cool.

I'm not sure what their plan for Sprigatito is yet. If it evolves, it loses the kid appeal and pet privileges that Pikachu had & marketed. I think that may be a reason why Meowscarada recently got that animated special (while Quaxly & Fuecoco remain unevolved with their partners), since I don't think Liko's will be evolving anytime soon.
