Ash has 1 more focus episode.
I’ve looked over your list and I’m questioning, what is your prerequisite for something being a focus episode because some of these either are mixed focus, introduction or have nothing to do with Ash or Go. Like how do you figure the episode dedicated to Scorbunny’s introduction is an Ash episode or even Lance vs Leon? You’re gonna have to give a bit of an explanation on your line of thinking with this list.

Shared focus is still focus. Episodes that have nothing to do with Ash and Goh focus on other characters. JN004 has Ash chasing and battling Scorbunny to get his backpack back. Ash vs Leon is about Ash battling Leon and deciding to defeat him.

Im sorry but “Ash chasing Scorbunny to get his backpack back” isn’t Ash doing something noteworthy. I’d hardly call that actual focus.

Shared Focus should be a category on its own, due to the 'Dual Protagonist' schtick.

Shared focus is still focus.
It’s focus in technicality alone. Ash chasing Scorbunny for 5 minutes does not make it an “Ash focus episode”.
I’ve said my piece so I’ll leave at that at the risk of the thread being derailed.

What constitutes a "focus episode" is certainly open to interpretation.

I will say, during shared focus episodes, Gou almost always steals the spotlight with his incessant captures. This creates an imbalance where he's made a net profit by the end of an episode, while Ash has come up empty handed. Ash's recent "battle montage still-image" further reinforces this imbalance, you know they would never relegate Gou's precious captures to "offscreen land".

I disagree. If it's shared then it has to be labeled as such.
Episodes that focus on Satoshi:
JN010, JN013, JN016, JN018, JN021, JN027, JN034, JN039, JN051, JN056.
Episodes that focus on Gou:
JN001, JN004, JN005, JN006, JN015, JN017, JN022, JN023, JN026-A, JN028, JN032, JN033, JN035, JN036, JN037, JN038, JN040, JN047, JN053, JN054.
Episodes that focus on both:
JN002, JN003, JN007, JN014, JN020, JN025, JN026-B, JN041-B, JN042-JN046, JN050.

JN025 should have been focused on Satoshi, but Gou got a plot of his own. So it's not.
There's a clear issue, Satoshi often gets sidelined, Gou does not.

Ash has more. I think people think Goh gets a lot of focus because he is usually in most of Ash's episodes where Ash gets usually sidelined in Goh's episodes.

How is JN012 Ash focused? Ash and Goh are both involved equally.
JN037 is clearly Goh focused. He meets Ash's Pokemon, friends, catches Pokemon, and gets a battle with Kiawe.
JN052 as Ash focused and both? What?

If you look beyond the numbers, Goh usually has something to do in Ash's episodes, but Ash rarely does anything in Goh's.

In JN012 Ash decides to take on Leon and admires him meanwhile Go is just there.
JN037 also features Ash returning to Alola.
JN052 was my bad, I made an error raplace ash's JN052 with JN056

That feels like a pretty big reach. The Scorbunny episode was about introducing Scorbunny. The fact that Ash’s backpack is the catalyst to that doesn’t make that an Ash episode. That’s like saying the Farfetch’d episode back in Kanto is a Misty episode because her backpack was stolen.

Also, you included JN012 on the list of Ash focus but while it introduces the PWC, it’s about Lance vs Leon, having nothing to do with Ash.

It is not an Ash episode it is shared. Ash battled Scorbunny with Pikachu while Goh saved it. Also the Farfetch'd episode was Misty and CotD focus.

In JN012 Ash admires Leon and decides to challange him.

ash for a moment thinks of him having battle with leon doesnt sounds like the full episode was ash focussed does it???!!!???
by that logic you should tell the shit dance episode(raboot) as ash focussed cuz goh changed his mind and entire thinking due to ash asking that question
JN037 also features Ash returning to Alola
what??are u serious ? clearly the plot starts due to goh and ends with goh reminding his dream and to add salt goh also battles while ash doesnt
Shared focus is still focus.
so u mean offscreen=onscreen then

not trying to b rude but ur logic seems somewhat biased towards goh

In JN012 Ash admires Leon and decides to challange him.
but goh catches a pokemon in every episode (except 1 or 2) which means every episode should b termed as goh focussed cuz he is working towards his dream?

In the ''shit'' dance episode Ash does nothing important. In Lance vs Leon, Ash decides his goal.
what??are u serious ? clearly the plot starts due to goh and ends with goh reminding his dream and to add salt goh also battles while ash doesnt
It was Ash's Idea to go to Alola.
so u mean offscreen=onscreen then
I said shared focus.

In every single episode Goh does not decide his dream. Also he does not catch a new mon every episode
not trying to b rude but ur logic seems somewhat biased towards goh
How is that biased towards Goh when I am defending him?

In the ''shit'' dance episode Ash does nothing important. In Lance vs Leon, Ash decides his goal.
Ash deciding he wants to battle someone doesn’t make him the focus of the episode. In fact, his goal of entering the PWC wasn’t decided until the following episode where he learns that he has to enter to have an official battle with Leon.

It was Ash's Idea to go to Alola.
That just makes Ash the catalyst of the episode happening, not the focal point

I said shared focus.
And this is why shared focus gets put into its own category. At that point, it’s not putting the spotlight on one or the other but both.

what? except 1 or 2 he gets atleast 1 ..seems u missed so much of the episode
No. Episode 3 Episode 4 Episode 43 and so much more. I think you missed them.

defending from truth that ash has been sidelined for most of journeys?
Defending=Not biased.

but who's in focus??
Both of them
That just makes Ash the catalyst of the episode happening, not the focal point
Ash is focused in the start and Goh in the end.
Ash deciding he wants to battle someone doesn’t make him the focus of the episode. In fact, his goal of entering the PWC wasn’t decided until the following episode where he learns that he has to enter to have an official battle with Leon.
It was JN012 that made him decide to enter the PWC after seing Leon's strength
