What are some extremely formal and polite ways of greeting someone whom you hold in very high regard or would like to display great respect towards? To put it in other terms...what would be a Japanese equivalent (in attitude/intention) of something like "it is my great honor to make your acquaintance" in English?

And also, I know that "moshi moshi" is the standard(?) greeting for people over the phone, but would that be acceptable if you knew you were addressing someone on the other line towards whom you wanted to show great respect? If not, then what would be acceptable?
