Review S14 EP28: Oshawott's Lost Scalchop!

Except Ash isn't that kind of Trainer. If he did this all the time he'd be similar to Paul.

Not all Trainers use the same methods of raising their Pokemon.

Well, you could possibly put it like that. But to me it kind of sounds like an excuse for Ash's laziness.
I'm still convinced that Paul's method is the superior one, except for his rudeness and lack of sympathy for his Pokemon. Quite frankly, Paul only lost to Ash in the Sinnoh League because for some strange reason he didn't use his all-star team, i.e. Honchkrow, Ursaring and, above all, Torterra. Had he used them, Ash wouldn't have had a snowball's chance in hell of winning that match.

"Mature"? A training montage parodying Rocky wouldn't be out of place in Pokemon as it currently is.
huh? I don't get what you mean. Why parody?

"Shoutout", then. "Reference". Same thing. If you take a famous movie scene and do your own version with fantasy animals in the roles, it becomes a parody.

Now I know what you mean. But I'm afraid, it seems you got me wrong. What I was talking about ( and I guess DracoMan meant the same) was that I'd like to see a Rocky-like training scene, not an exact copy (or parody) of the original, which by the way wouldn't be possible anyways. So what I wanted to see is basically hard training, sweat and Ash cheering his Pokemon on with cool slogans like the constant "No pain" in Rocky IV.

It's no secret I hate Oshawott. But this episode almost got me to like him. That mon has determination and grit, I tell you. And I'm glad he got some development. But I would have prefered if any other mon but him got some instead.

And Stephan! What can I say about you that hasn't been already said? I prefer Stephan over Kenyan.

And Joltik was cute. :3
