The Pokemon World is full of mysteries. Pokemon, the amazing creatures that thrive on our planet, of with many unique qualities are found most everywhere; from the dense jungles to the vast, open plains, soaring high above the blue skies and diving down to deepest depths in the ocean, there isn't one place you won't find them! In the Pokemon World, Pokemon and people live together in harmony. Living together, and reaching out to each other, as friends and comrades, they coexist.

Some people, however, choose to use Pokemon for their own selfish reasons. Abusing Pokemon, using them as tools or slaves, evil characters use Pokemon to commit crimes and sometimes to achieve an even greater goal. Despite the fruitless efforts of those determined to stop these, there will always be evil out there to counteract all of the good in the world.

Police officials in Azalea Town have reported sightings of suspicious men and woman clad in only black, with the exception of the blood red "R" imprinted on their chests, near the Slowpoke Well. The citizens of Johto fear that evil teams will soon rise again, like the ones that have been defeated in Kanto many years before.

In this RPG, you will play the role of a Pokemon Trainer, traveling to Johto to start of their Pokemon Journey. During the RP, you will have the choice of becoming a Pokemon Trainer or Coordinator. An evil team, to be introduced throughout the course of the story, will threaten the Pokemon World as we know it and it is up to the players to stop them. But until then, enjoy your Pokemon Journey and have fun!

Johto, a History
1,500 years from modern times, the place now known as the Ruins of Alph was built in Johto, and the earliest system of writing was developed. Nobody knows exactly who built the Ruins of Alph, but research indicates that they were most likely an ancient civilization that wished to co-exist with the enigmatic Unown that bear great resemblance to letters from our modern Latin alphabet. Not only did the ancient people impart messages in the ruins' walls describing the Unown, but a statue of a Pokemon was also erected for reasons unknown.

At some point later, outsiders began to gather near the ruins. The Unown were timid creatures, rejecting contact with anyone but the ancient clan who had protected them. To make sure of the Unown's well being, the Ruins of Alph's inhabitants decided to leave Johto, but not without devising complicated puzzles so that the Unown could be summoned again. As for the clan, they headed for a mountain in the far north where they met another group of people who hailed from Spear Pillar. Together, the two groups constructed a temple to honor the Pokemon, Arceus, which incorporated elements from the Ruins of Alph and Spear Pillar; this collaboration probably has something to do with the relationship between Arceus and the Unown. The temple, too, has been since left in ruin, and its lowest floor is known today as the Sinjoh Ruins. However, the ritual of honoring legendary Pokemon goes all the way back to ancient Johto, specifically Ecruteak City.

About 700 years before modern times, the people of Ecruteak built two large towers with the hopes of fostering friendship and hope between Pokémon and humans, the Brass Tower in the west, which was said to awaken Pokemon, and the Bell Tower in the east, which was said to put Pokemon to rest. Both towers became the roost of two powerful flying Pokemon, Lugia and Ho-Oh, respectively. Although it is unknown what made the citizens of Johto revere Lugia and Ho-Oh, a seperate tale indicates that Lugia had had a previous encounter with the people of Johto when it stopped a war on the Whirl Islands, which were a single island at the time.

The towers stood for a good 550 years, when a lightning bolt struck the Brass Tower. It was engulfed in flames, and the fire lasted for three days. Finally, a sudden downpour came and put out the blaze, but it had already burnt to the ground. Three nameless Pokemon perished in the fire, but Ho-Oh descended from the sky, and ressurected them. The revived Pokemon were meant to embody three powers: the lightning that struck the tower, the fire that burnt the tower, and the rain the put out the fire, and thus, the legendary beasts, Raikou, Entei and Suicune were born. When the three appeared, the struck terror into those who saw their rise. Then the Pokemon, knowing their own power, fled, running like the wind, off into Johto's grasslands. Both Ho-Oh and Lugia flew away at the sight of the growing distance between people and Pokemon. While they never returned to Ecruteak, they yearned for a person to touch the hearts and souls of Pokemon once more.

Around 500 years from modern day, the Cianwood City Pharmacy, the world's oldest pharmacy was built. About 400 years ago, Azalea Town was struck by a long-term drought wave. After once again bringing the rain back by yawning, the Pokemon, Slowpoke, gained an honorable position in that town.

It was mid-morning in the quaint town of New Bark. People were just beginning to emerge from their domiciles, some still groggy from a restless night. The shops and businesses that lined the dirt roads were just opening around now- the only place that had seen activity before this time in the morning was the local Pokemon Research Lab, which had been preparing for the big day ahead of them. Many of those who woke up during these hours did so by choice- for love of their job, or for love of the multitude of species of Pokemon that only showed up when the sun was just making its way over the horizon. Professor Elm yawned and gently stirred his coffee. "It's almost time!" he mused, glancing at his watch and opening up the door of his laboratory as the sunlight streamed in, glinting off the marble floor tiles. After all the anticipation, the day was finally here. Several children would be stopping by the lab to pick up a starter Pokemon and a Pokedex to start the journeys. You could just feel the excitment in the crisp, spring air...

Appearance: What does your character look like? A paragraph should be sufficient.
Personality: How does your character act? I'd like atleast a paragraph, please.

Starter Pokemon: Doesn't have to be a traditional starter given away by the professors. Please include gender and nickname, if one.
Other: Anything else you wanna include?

Example:
Name: Marcus
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Training Career: League
Hometown/Region: Olivine City, Johto

Appearance: At 6 feet and 2 inches, Marcus is quite tall for his age. He has a rather pale complexion, and has a stocky, well-toned build due to a vigorous lifestyle. Marcus has shaggy, dark brown hair which will normally be covering down over his wide, blue eyes. In terms of apparel, Marcus goes more for comfort than style. Usually, he'll be seen wearing a pair of ripped cargo jeans, and a solid white t-shirt, or sometimes even a sweatshirt on some of those really cold days. Marcus wears the same pair of orange tennis sneakers everywhere he goes, which, surprisingly have held out all of these years, but are horribly dirty and worn.
Personality: Marcus tends to be an easy-going guy, but a lot of things set him off. He is prone to injuries, and can get very upset with himself often. But, Marcus sees things through to the end, and never backs down. He stands up for what he believes in, and reaches out to everyone, or atleast those who are kind towards Pokemon. Marcus is a little flighty at times, but is honest and determined. He wants to make a difference in the wold he lives in. Marcus is not really flirty, but likes to keep to himself. But, he isn’t afraid to make new friends, which isn't hard for him since he loves to talk about himself. Marcus definitely looks out for his friends and is really just an open, owtward kid that loves to cheer people up.
Background: Marcus had a pretty swell childhood. He lived in a small cottage on the beach with his mum, a house mother, dad, who worked for the Devon Corp.'s Johto Branch, and two older sisters. Marcus always dreamed of being a trainer, and was very jealous when his elder sister set off on her own Pokemon Journey. He came into harm’s way with Pokemon many times, unfortunately. Once, while playing catch with his friends, and going to retrieve the ball which had rolled away into the tall grass, Noa was attacked by a Raticate. He even received terrible burns from a Magmortar’s flame drum, which he still has scars from. Marcus was home schooled, and was an excellent student, but was constantly caught daydreaming. He was generally liked among the people who knew him, but Marcus still had trouble with bullies. One day, he was corned in an alleyway, by a couple of kids from his school who apparently had a bone to pick with him. It wouldn't have been that big of a deal, Marcus is a pretty strong kid, he could take them on. But, they had a bat. Marcus was suddenly rescued by a Aipom and its Swift. Out of gratitude, he took it home and gave the Pokemon a place to stay. In later years, the Aipom ended up living in the hollow oak next to his house. So, now that he's 14, Marcus is finally permitted by his parents to start his Pokemon Journey.

WORK IN PROGRESS

Name: Liliana Charles
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Training Career: League
Hometown/Region: Cherrygrove City

Appearance: Lili is a girl of average height, standing at 5 foot 3, with dark brown hair and dazzling green eyes. Her skin is fairly tan, having lived on the coast all her life, and she seems to always be followed by the scent of flowers. She wears her hair down nearly every day even though reaches to her waist. Occasionally she'll braid in feathers, seashells, or the like. Liliana's favorite outfit to wear is a blue floral printed shirt and white knee length shorts, and a pair of cheap plastic flip flops. (In this case hot pink flip flops)

Personality: Lili likes to joke around and say silly (and occasionally rude things), yet accompanies them with a laugh or a smile to let you know she's joking. Liliana's not very serious in nature, but does get quite and distant at times when she's lost in thought. She's of average intelligence, and is fairly passive.

Background: Liliana had a peaceful childhood in Cherrygrove City, growing up on the beach with her two younger sisters. Her family wasn't a super close knit one, but she did get along with her siblings fairly well. Her Aunt Georgia also lived with the family, helping raise the kids and preparing Lili for her future dream as a Pokemon trainer. Because of all her Aunt's stories Lili desires to become a famous Pokemon trainer, and to succeed where her Aunt failed.
Starter Pokemon: Doesn't have to be a traditional starter given away by the professors. Please include gender and nickname, if one.
Other: Anything else you wanna include?

Re: Spring Samba-A Journey Through Johto (Remake)

Name: Hilda
Age: 12
Gender: Female
Training Career: Contests
Hometown/Region: Nimbasa City, Unova

Appearance:
279px-Black_White_Hilda.png

Personality: Very smart and has a way to battle in any situation. Tends to overwork her Pokemon at time but it never hurts her pride. She is often compared to as an Empoleon or a Serperior. Is also very bossy at times.
Background: She was born and raised in Nimbasa City, but as a child her father was gone. She never knew who her father was, and her mother was always too busy working contests to tend to her. Even if her mother were to show some care, Hilda would be the first to stand into the way of others. She also grew up alongside her mother's Lilligant and Whimsicott.

As a child, her mother always made her wear "earth colors" like brown and green. When she turned ten, she left to get her starter. After she'd turned twelve, she was invited to a cruise to Johto. Unfortunately, it was a scam set up by Team Rocket, and Hilda was abandoned at New Bark Town. Her original starter was at home, and instead she had three abandoned choices. As if she knew, she took her favorite one.....

Re: Spring Samba-A Journey Through Johto (Remake)

Name: Jacob (Jake) Laurey
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Training Career: League
Hometown/Region: Cerulean City, Kanto

Appearance: Jake is moderately tall for his age, standing at 6'0, and has a rather fair complexion. He has a well-toned, stocky musculature, due to a hardy, vigorous lifestyle. Jake has shaggy, dirty blond hair, which swoops down to cover his light hazel eyes. He normally shoots for comfort rather than style in his clothing, wearing a blue t-shirt with a grey design of a '?' Unown printed on it, under a black zip-up hoodie. Alongside that, Jake usually sports faded, brown cargo jeans and a pair of black and white running sneakers. He tops off the look with a necklace, a Sharpedo tooth on a string that he received as a gift.

Personality: Jake is generally cheerful, and outright avoids conflict. He can be a bit headstrong, meaning well for his friends and family, but is prone to make quick decisions that could possible negatively affect himself and those around him. He is a keen learner and very knowledgeable on the subject of Pokemon; he's always had a soft spot for them. As well, he's world-weary without the burden of being world-wise. Jake is quite bold and isn't normally one cautious about taking risks. When Jake finds that he makes a mistake, he is quick to blame himself. While this means that he never holds anyone else responsible for his actions, it also means he tends to carry a lot guilt, which can damage his self-confidence, at times. All in all, Jake is an outward, down-to-earth pre-teen, loaded with a love for adventure.

Background: Jake was born in Cerulean City, a year before his younger sister, making him the oldest of two. He was raised by his mother and father in a large manor house near the local gym, and, his family being neither poor nor rich, had a classic middle-class upbringing. Jake lived a fairly normal life. He had a lot of friends at school and was generally liked by the people who knew him. He would often train Water-type Pokemon with the Gym Leader, Misty, however, he wasn't overly fascinated by them like his sister was. While he did devote most of his time to Pokemon training, Jake also spent time studying to keep his grades up.

At the age of thirteen, he began getting into battling as a sport. He started watching tapes of famous trainer battles and became more interested in travelling. Once his parents discovered Jake's interest in battling, they sent him to the Pokemon Trainer School in Saffron City. He learned the basics and studied hard, and, even though he was outclassed by a few of the smarter students, graduated at the top of his class. Once he turned 14, his parents decided Jake could finally go on his journey. He took a boat directly to New Bark Town, bound for new experiences and relationships. As a present for leaving, his sister had bestowed upon him a Totodile that he could use in battle.

Starter Pokemon: Murray (Totodile l Male)

Re: Spring Samba-A Journey Through Johto (Remake)

Name: Asilla Raine
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Training Career: Contests
Hometown/Region: Eterna City, Sinnoh

Appearance: Asilla has platinum blond hair that falls three inches down her back. Her left eye is emerald green and the right sapphire blue, and she stands at 5' 7" and weighs average weight for her height. She wears a cyan top, turquoise skirt, and dark green leggings. She wears a platinum bangle around her right arm, and has a matching pair of earrings with emeralds and sapphires.
Personality: Asilla may seem like the high-class girl, but she actually is simple and understated. For starters, she always gives coordinating advice to new coordinators. She can be an amazing and wonderful girl most of the time, but in a contest it's all about winning and "Raine Rage", a technique she came up with during a battle with her older sister, Annika.
Background: As a toddler, Asilla always watched her mother's demonstrations on coordinating, which made her want to be one. At the age of seven, her mother took her to a real contest. When it was time for her mother's final round, her mother pulled a Dawn Stone out and threw it to the Kirlia she owned. It evolved into Gallade, and that won the contest for the Raines. At the age of 14, her mother got her a Piplup to journey with, and she set off.

During her Sinnoh travels, Asilla competed in contests alongside her mother, which in the end, she had obtained enough Ribbons to enter the Grand Festival. During the Festival, Asilla, Annika, Tiffany, and their mother Laria, competed against each other. In the end, Asilla won, the runner-up being Tiffany. She was born in Nimbasa City, but raised in Eterna City. Now she sets off for Johto in high hopes of winning.
Starter Pokemon: Piplup|Female|Empress|Pound, Growl, Bubble.
Other: Anything else you wanna include?

Re: Spring Samba-A Journey Through Johto (Remake)

Name: Dawn Richards
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Training Career: League
Hometown/Region: Violet City, Johto

Appearance: Dawn is short, even for her age for fourteen. She stands at 4ft9, and has a petite build to match it. Her chocolate brown hair is cut into a longer pixie cut and has a bad habit of sticking up everywhere. She has brown eyes that are so dark they're almost black, and are what she calls, "the boringest color ever". She has an average peach skin tone with a splash of freckles across her nose. She has a delicate "fairy face". Dawn's ears are slightly pointed at the end, but this quirk is covered by her dark red knit hat that she wears most of the time. She is seen in a pair of running shorts and a tank top most of the time, along with a pair of black and red sneakers.

Personality: Dawn is very happy go-lucky and cheerful. She likes to cause mischief, but only in fun in games, never anything truly bad. She has a bad habit of holding grudges and getting a bit too competitive, but she is usually never sore in losing against one of her friends or to someone she admires. Being a bit more on the naive side, Dawn will believe most anything, but when she finds out she's been tricked she'll do anything to get you back. Dawn likes all kinds of pokemon, and resents anyone who treats them unkindly. Her rage, though hardly activated, is not something you want to face. Also, Dawn's a bit of an airhead.

Background: Dawn grew up in Violet city, with four older brothers, Jason, Robert, Gavin, and her older twin brother Don, or D, this meant as a child she was well protected and well looked after, especially since Jason is a top trainer and Dawn is his favorite sibling. Dawn had several run-ins with pokemon that would have ended up badly, but for some reason did not. She once ran into a baby Kangaskhan, and played with it for about half an hour, until it's mother showed up and quickly flew into a rage. The baby returned to it's mom and Dawn foolishly gave the mother a hug, and the two just walked away. Dawn was originally going to start her journey at the age of 11, along with D, but she got sick, and didn't recover for another year. Even after she got sick her mother said she was still to weak to go and had her stay behind another year to regain her strength. The year after that Dawn decided to wait another year, though it was a hard and tough decision, and she studied at Sprout tower. Now at the age of fourteen she is finally starting her journey, three years behind her twin, who she has only seen 6 times since he first left, but talks to every other day on his phone.

Starter Pokemon: Cyndaquil|Female|Scorch

Other:(Is it possible for Dawn's dad to be one of the gym leaders?)

Re: Spring Samba-A Journey Through Johto (Remake)

@Rosezero0; Accepted and no, Dawn's father will likely not be a Gym Leader.

That concludes our sign-ups, everyone. The start-up will be posted shortly.
