Sprites Or Models?

To me personally, them going for cel-shaded style was probably the best choice they could have gone with it, it fits with the somewhat cartoony feel of the series.

I'm going to be honest, i never liked the 3D models of the Colosseum and Stadium games, most of them just look made out of plastic.
 
I like the sprites of the first two generations. After that, I prefer the 3DS models. I think that the models are what GF wanted the newer sprites to be; anime-style, cartoonish Pokemon. The gen 1 sprites were manga-style with a touch of realism and detail.
