As the Jet carrying Steve Rogers and Pikachu returned to the United States, they realised the scope of what was happening. All across the country, there was chaos. Robotic soldiers had landed in every city. They were attacking everyone, and even the United States Military was having a hard time keeping them at bay.

“There!” Said the Pikachu in the detective’s hat, pointing at the sensors. There was a greater concentration of power coming from the city of New York.

“Then that is where we are going.” Steve Rogers said.

Down on the ground in New York City, and a blue hedgehog sped through the gathered robots, knocking them down. Sonic slowed to a stop and turned to look back at his handy work with a small smirk then blinked as more robots joined the fray. “That didn’t even make a dent!” He complained.

“Don’t give up!” Said a young woman as she flew over the battlefield. This young woman was Kara Danvers, also known as Supergirl. She flew down and landed, pushing a robot away as she did so. Her eyes glowed briefly, and she unleashed her heat vision, melting a few robots.

“You have to teach me how to do that.” Complained an older man was he ran onto the scene. With a “Hiya!” He spun kicked a robot out of the way then held up his hands. “Dino Thunder, Power Up!” He called and inserted his key into the morpher on his wrist. The Black Dino Thunder Ranger drew his staff and ran in, slashing his way through multiple robots.

“Who was that?” Kara asked.

“That, was Doctor Tommy Oliver.” Iron Man said as he flew down, firing his repulsor beams at some of the ships flying over the city. “The Legendary Power Ranger.”

“All you guys seem to do is talk.” Toshinori Yagi, also known as All Might, complained as he kicked a robot away. “Can we please save the world first and talk later?”

“That sounds like a good idea to me.” Steve Rogers said as he threw his shield, knocking down quite a few robots before the shield returned to him.

“Pika… chuuuuuuuuuuuuu!” Detective Pikachu unleashed a massive electric shock at a group of robots, destroying them.

Sonic sped back over to the group then groaned as he was hit and knocked down by something moving extra fast. The blue hedgehog sat up in time to see the black Hedgehog, known as Mephiles the Dark. “Hi Sonic,” He said. “Fancy seeing you here.”

Sonic groaned as he returned to his feet. “Great.”

“Uh guys.” Tommy Oliver spoke up. “Giant Turtle alert!”

“Oh you have got to be kidding me.” Tony Stark complained as bowser stomped down the streets of New York City, kicking Hero and robot out of the way as he did.

Steve Rogers glanced up then raised his shield… before being struck in the back and coming crashing to the ground. He groaned as he rolled over to look up as the imposing man with purple skin walked past him. The imposing man was Thanos, the fallen titan.

Standing on a rooftop, watching over the chaos, was another man. This man was wearing a cloak, and wasn’t standing up straight. He was slightly bent over, and his skin was a bubbly green. He cackled in a weird high pitched voice as he watched the chaos.

The fight for New York City continued into the night.

The Arbiter, a character from the video game series Halo, ran down the streets, his energy blade in his hands as he slashed robot after robot.

“There is just no end to them!” Peter Parker, also known as Spiderman, said as he flung his webs at a group of robots, tying them up.

Super Goof flew down, flying past a large group of robots, then spinning around and flying back into them, knocking them down.

Onion Knight pulled his sword and raised his shield as he charged into the fray.

“Everything… Ugh…. *snort*... is… ugh… going to plan.” The mutated man watching the battle from the rooftop declared.

The fighting continued through the night and into the next day.

“These guys have a massive advantage over us.” Izuku Midoriya complained as he knocked away another robot.

“I don’t want to hear it.” Steve Rogers said as he threw his shield into the robots.

“Well, they don’t need to sleep, or eat.” Izuku said.

“I said I don’t want to hear it.” Captain America replied as he retrieved his shield and looked up at the shields above. “Stark, Arbiter. One of those ships up there has to be controlling these things.”

“On it.” Tony Stark, Iron Man, said as he flew into the air.

“Right.” The Arbiter said as he grabbed on to Iron Man as the metal superhero flew past.

“I don’t think so.” Said the mysterious masked man. He leaped into the air, with an impressive jump, and kicked Iron Man. Tony lost control of his flight and started spinning out of control towards the ground. The Arbiter let go, and the masked man grabbed his weapon, a large spear and kicked off from Iron Man, flying through the air towards the Arbiter. He thrust his spear forward, straight through the video game character’s chest.

As the Arbiter hit the ground, the masked man was nowhere to be seen. Sonic dashed over to the Arbiter, but it was too late. His bits had started to degrade and he disappeared into digital oblivion.

“Pika...CHUUUUUUUU” Detective Pikachu thunderbolted a group of robots.

“Look, we’re getting nowhere.” Steve Rogers said. “We have to go after their leaders.”

“Got it!” Sonic said.

“Right behind you.” Supergirl added and flew off after Sonic.

Mephiles the Dark sped towards Onion Knight when suddenly Sonic slammed into him, sending him off balance.

“Hey, That wasn’t very nice.”

“Yeah, well leading an army of robots against Earth isn’t very nice either.” Sonic said and glanced at Supergirl. “You want to do the honors?” He asked.

Supergirl’s eyes glowed, and she fired her heat beam at Mephiles. The black hedgehog fell down, defeated.

Thanos was on a mission. He strode down the street, knocking Spiderman, and the Black Dino Thunder Ranger out of the way as he did. He reached his target, Izuku Midoriya. Thanos gripped the young hero around the neck then threw him into a building.

“Izuku!” All Might shouted and tried to run towards him, but he was stopped by an army of robots.

Izuku tried to sit up then blinked and looked down at his body as he was covered in a glowing golden light, light particles coming from his body. “What… what is happening to me?” He asked, before he vanished in a cloud of golden light particles.

“You will pay for that!” Tommy Oliver shouted. “Bracio Staff! Energy Orb!” He gripped his weapon and spun it in a vertical circle around himself then fired the Orb at Thanos.

Thanos raised his hand towards the Orb and it exploded on contact with his infinity gauntlet.Thanos walked through the explosion as if it wasn’t there.

A masked man, wearing a very fancy suit, walked down the street. This man was the villain known as All For One, One of Japan’s most powerful villains.

“Stop!” Yelled a voice from behind him. All for one turned to face him. “Kid, you really don’t want to do that.” He said. Spiderman raised his hand towards him, unleashing a web. But that went hit a street light instead. All for one had disappeared.

“Behind you.” He said and slammed his fist into Spiderman’s back. Spiderman cried out as he stumbled forward. All For One flicked his wrist,sending an air shockwave at Spiderman. The young hero was thrown against a wall, and slid down it.

“Spiderman!” Sonic yelled as he ran over. Yellow energy particles started to come from Spiderman’s body, and he vanished in a flash of light.

“Bracio Staff. Fire Tornado!” Tommy Oliver called and switched the setting on his weapon, then swung it, unleashing a powerful fire tornado towards Bowser.

While Thanos appeared to be immune to Tommy’s powers, Bowser was not. The giant turtle hit the ground hard and yellow particles started to come from his body, before he vanished.

For four whole days now, the fighting had been intense. And combat fatigue was starting to set in.

Tommy Oliver groaned as a blast from a robot impacted his suit. “We can’t keep this up for much longer.” He said.

“We could use reinforcements!” All Might said then blinked and turned as Thanos landed behind him.

Thanos snarled at him before backhanding him. The superhero flew across the road, crashing into a building and falling to the ground.

Conjuring power from the stones in his glove, before sending a blast at All Might.

Doctor Tommy Oliver stumbled across the field to collapse next to the fallen hero as yellow particles started to come from his body, before he disappeared.

The battle was nearly over… Most of the superheroes fighting against the robotic army had been defeated.

Sonic zipped in and out of robots, getting under their feet, and tripping them over.

Iron Man flew down over the battlefield, looking at the devastation. The city was heavily damaged, and there were now more bad guys than good guys. He didn’t know if they could win at this rate.

The Masked Man chuckled to himself as he surveyed the chaos. Things were going exactly as he planned. He spotted something down below. Sonic, weaving in and out of the robots, knocking them down. “Pest.” He growled. He raised his staff, and it glowed with purple power. That power wrapped around Sonic, and slammed him into the wall several times before releasing him.

Sonic fell to the ground, heavily injured. Yellow particles started to come from his body.

“Sonic!” The Black Ranger yelled as he ran over, and dropped to his knees next to Sonic.
“Heh… It was… a good try.” Sonic said weakly, looking up at him. “We gave it our best.”
“Hey, you did good, kid.” Tommy Oliver said. “We’ll take it from here.”

And with that, Sonic disappeared into yellow particles.

Tommy Oliver stood. He scanned the crowd then noticed Thanos making his way down the street. “You’re going down.. You’ve come this far, and no further. SUPER DINO MODE!”

With that, The spikes on the Black Ranger’s suit extended from both his arms and legs, and a new found power surged through the Black Ranger. He ran at Thanos, leaping over his head and kicking him in the back. The fallen Titan stumbled forward, then spun back around.
“Do you really think you can defeat me?” Thanos growled, and raised his fist.
“I don’t think. I know.” Tommy said as he drew his weapon and channeled all his power into it. “Bracio Staff! Energy Orb!” He called and sent the massive purple and gold glowing orb at Thanos.
Sparks flew everywhere, followed by yellow particles. The massive being stumbled back, before disappearing in a massive shower of particles.

Captain America landed on the roof behind the masked man. “It’s over.” He said. “Put down the staff.”

The masked man turned towards him, and raised his staff. Captain America swung his arm, throwing his shield. The masked me raised his staff, and the shield halted its flight in midair.

“You’re right.” The masked man said, in a sort of a wheeze. “It’s over. For you.” With that, the masked man pulled down his hood and removed his mask.

“You!” Captain America was stunned. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing.


It is now Day 5. Phase ends at 23:00 AWEST (3pm GMT) on the 20th of October.

THIS IS THE LAST PHASE OF THE GAME. If a scum member is not lynched this phase, the game is over.

As Captain America stood there, staring at the now unmasked mutated man, he thought back, remembering the stories… It happened nearly two years ago…

These four Fantastic heroes had beaten ME's test and proven themselves worthy champions who would carry on the torch of heroism for many years to come.

Satisfied with the job he had performed, Maniacal Engineer made preparations to depart the hero's universe. As he was carrying some of his boxes back to his dimensional transporter, however, he accidentally tripped over the Eevee, who had been playing by his feet.

Maniacal Engineer took a tumble over a railing and fell into a vat of toxic chemicals.

Speedily, Fili-Second hit the controls to drain the vat, but, alas, the damage had been done.

ME has transformed into a creature so hideous that words could barely describe him.

The self-described wacky man then proceeded to Creep around the city, laughing insanely the whole while.

The heroes looked at each other sadly; they knew what must be done.
Together, they managed to capture the warped engineer, and hauled him into a nice padded cell in the Arkham Asylum, where he just sat and giggled.

Flash Back

The now insane former-Engineer chortled his head off. “Why, surprised to see me, are you?” He giggled, insanely.

“Why… why are you doing this?” Steve Rogers asked.

“Why, you ask?” The insane engineer replied. “There is no why. There is only… the war. Syndrome!”

“Yes, Master.” Syndrome said as he jumped up onto the building. Captain America’s shield fell to the ground, and Steve Rogers picked up the weapon, slamming it into villain. Syndome stumbled then jumped up. The rocket boots he was wearing fired and he sailed over Steve Roger’s head, landing behind him. Steve was prepared through, and turned, throwing his shield just as the super villain landed.

Syndrome landed on his back. “Hey! That wasn’t fair!” He protested then looked down at his hands. “Hey, what’s going on?”
Yellow particles had started to come from his body.

“Oh, don’t mind that.” Maniacal Engineer snorted. “It’s a side effect of the gas.”

With that, Syndrome’s body disintegrated into yellow particles, and he was gone.

Ereshkigal, Nightwing101, and Melodious Nocturne Demyx have won the game. They were The Flying Pumpkin, The Roleblocker, both associated with Town, and the Survivor.

“It’s over, Maniacal Engineer.” Tommy Oliver said as he walked up next to Steve Rogers. Tony Stark joined them on the roof, along with Super Goof and Captain Underpants.

“It’s not over! It’ll never be over!” Maniacal Engineer chortled. “You think you’ve won, don’t you? You think you’re all sooooo clever. Look at me, I’m the big bad superhero.”

“Your armies defeated.” Tommy said. “And so are you.”

“NEVER!” Maniacal Engineer screamed and pulled a small vile of disgusting looking green liquid from his coat pocket. He threw it on the ground at his feet and it exploded, leaving behind a huge cloud of dust and smoke. When it cleared, he was gone.

Captain America sighed heavily. “We’ve won.” He said.
“But at what cost?” Tommy Oliver asked, looking down over the heavily damaged city.

“We have to prepare for his return.” Tony Stark said. “We owe it to Sonic, Spiderman, The Arbiter, Izuku, All Might, Supergirl and Pikachu. We owe it to every life that was lost to put a stop to him.”

THE END

Our insane Engineer will return in the finale to Superhero Bonanza. I hope you’ll join me there.
