Iris and N appeared in flashbacks in this episode, but they aren't listed on the Bulbapedia page. I can't edit it in myself right now, but can a moderator on Bulbapedia add them in?
Anyway, this was a pretty fun filler for what it was. At least Cilan, Clemont, and Bonnie introduced each other by name since Ash never told them about Cilan before. Although having Cilan back is pretty odd considering how XY has never mentioned anything else about Ash's past travels except for an in-direct mention of Dawn's Piplup. Nevertheless, while the train chase took up most of the episode, the episode was good fun in the end. I also got a kick out of Cilan's Engrish, idk if he spoke Engrish often in Best Wishes or not as I haven't watched much of the Best Wishes series. Cilan also didn't really have a reason to suspect Cilan of traveling with Ash and vise versa, since there's so many people in the world and it would be a miracle to learn that the guy you just met also traveled with him. It wouldn't have been if Ash ever talked about his previous friends, but he never does. The episode served its purpose well though, and I enjoyed the interactions between Bonnie, Clemont, and Cilan.
Its almost as if wasn't much that coud really done with his goal of becoming a top Pokemon Connoisseur and I guess this was the next option. I feel like they didn't go into depth a lot with Cilan's goal, so now he's doing this I guess?Speaking of Dent, is the fact he's apparently a travelling fisherman who goes to look at random towers now supposed to be his ultimate fate? Between this and Iris wandering around aimlessly chasing Rayquaza, I can't help but feel sorry that both of Satoshi's BW friends were given such lousy final pay-offs.

One thing that just did not sit right was how they try and continue the tradition of the male companions not realising their mutual friendship with Ash; especially since they go quite far in describing themselves that the only logical (and disturbing) explanation would be that Ash never mentioned one to the other. Their names are only one thing (though, I doubt that a name like Dento and Citron are very common, but regardless) - but their professions? It stretches beyond belief that Clemont would not have thought "Oh, a sommelier huh? Ash travelled with one - could he be...?", especially since Dento not only mentions that he is a sommelier, but also the gym leader of Striaton city. The same applies to Dento not registering his connection to Clemont, though it could have been that he and Ash simply never contacted another after their departure (that is a sad state of affairs).
