I was breeding Bagons, Salamence with Gyarados, for the egg move Thrash. Also trying to get a shiny. I was roaming around, trying to hatch them, and one hatches about 1,000 steps later.
"What? Doesn't it take longer?"
It hatches into.... MAGIKARP!?
"Must be a glitch..."
And that's when I realized the Gyarados was the female one.
