Lava cave? yes. Yes. YES! definitely getting white2 :D

Nice to see Black City and White Forest getting new looks, never really like their design in Black/White. Also, looks like we enter White Forest by a tree? <insert Zelda reference>

Yeah the entrance gatehouse is a tree apparently. Not too shabby, looks like they updated the looks of everything. At least its not a direct copy paste of everything.

Homika's gym imo. So Tachiwaki is the docks too.I wonder if the place we saw Magnemite, Koffing, Growlithe - the other side of the docks with trainers and wild grass - is Tachiwaki aswell.

Because the buildings from the animated trailer and upcoming TCG set have a distinct design and are clearly based on in-game buildings in some port city, and yet the buildings in Virbank's port look nothing like them.

Okay, but we haven't seen all of Virbank City just yet. Judging from the animated trailer and the TCG set, the buildings seem to be on the main part of the land. This could place the buildings seen from the animated trailer and TCG set on the west side of Virbank (west of the canal). We still have yet to see an in-game picture of eastern Virbank. Its quite possible that this is still the same city.

There's only one port in Virbank City. If the area featured in the trailer were it, it would have been visible on that map.

It's also quite clear that the boat shown there isn't the one from the trailer but is the one taking you to Castelia.

The animated trailer clearly proves that the buildings are in the dock area, while the map and screenshot show that no such buildings exist in Virbank's port (which is the eastern part of the city). I don't understand your argument.

No, the animated trailer proves that the buildings are to the west of the docks. The in-game picture we got of Virbank is directly in the docks. The map excuse is kind of nonsense especially since the map doesn't show every single building in the cities. It's only the major landmarks that get included in the map. The buildings in the animated trailer seem to be really generic and not important, so it kind of makes sense to not include it in the map.

We don't know what's west of what. The animated trailer shows that the buildings are the first thing that is seen when going directly from the port to the city. The buildings in the Virbank screenshot aren't in the port itself, but rather they are exactly where you'd expect to see the buildings from the trailer and TCG.

The buildings in the animated trailer seem to be really generic and not important, so it kind of makes sense to not include it in the map.
If they were generic, they wouldn't be used in both the trailer and card design.

Yeah, that's not Virbank in the animated trailer. The map layout is almost identical, with only the road leading to the left in that screenshot being the difference.

No, the animated trailer proves that the buildings are to the west of the docks.

There are no compass points telling us which way is north, and this isn't the game, so you cannot say that the trailer proves the direction of the docks. The grunts the PC were fighting were on the back side of the boat, with the back side of the boat facing the city. Given that you don't know which way is north, all the trailer proves is this: the boat is facing away from the building. What does this imply? Is the boat leaving?

Unless you can give me evidence to which way north is, you're only saying the trailer "proves" the buildings are west of the dock to fit your theory that its Virbank city, just like how you're discounting that the buildings here are very uniquely designed and looks like each other.

Whenever we see buldings in the anime, we hardly see all of them in a row resemblance one another. For them to do this in this trailer would suggest that the buildings in-game use this one particular archetype for the city. Note how many cities in Unova seem to only use one type of building per town when it comes to generic houses? There is absolutely no reason for the animated trailer to make their own, and in fact, their excessive use of that one building design, even in an animated trailer where one would expect more variety suggests that this design is the archetype for that city. Now we've seen the buildings in-game for Virbank, they're grey with blue/purple roofs.

There is no basis to argue that these buildings are not accurate when 1) the boat itself is accurate, 2) every landmark shown for an extensive period more or less captures the design of its in-game counterpart, and 3) the building designs themselves are used as backgrounds in the TCG.

EDIT:

On the contrary, the in-game image here (based on the fact that up = north in the games) would suggest the port is west. But this is something concluded from game images, and not, as you suggest, the trailer. At the same time, the points about the buildings still stand.

Guys, you do realize that Virbank City is NOT the entire smoke stack dock area, right? If it is, then apparently cities now have tall grass with wild Growlithes, Magbys, and Magnemites in them. The proof that Virbank City is not the same dock as in the animated trailer is that the city is only top portion of the dock in southwestern Unova, and there are buildings in the trailer west of the dock. Pokemon Smash proved there are no buildings in the smoke stack area...absolute proof. Plus, the boat is different. It has two "chimneys" or columns, as ahown by the map and a game scene from a trailer. The boat from the animated trailer has one large central column (possibly a mast?).

Famitsu scans include a walkthrough of the beginning of the games, which shows full maps of the relevant locations. The part about Virbank City confirms that it is not the city from the animated trailer.

I'm more curious about that thing to the right. I guess that dotted line is the underwater tunnel.

Only five new cities, three of which we knew of already, and another we kind of guessed the existence of.

Looks... cluttered, to say the least. Looks like Route 10 is long gone, or at Victory Road is permanently inaccessible from it.

The new beach city/town in Eastern Unova might be the one from the animated trailer, but I'm inclined to think that it's Shizui's town.

So there's no land link between Virbank and Driftveil, there's a town north of Undella and we take Victory Road from another direction?
