Pearlshipping General Discussion

I don't see Dawn like a mature Misty. Dawn is much more easy going, too much for a just a little more matured personality. Dawn just gets along with many people quite well. Shipping-wise I think this is far less interesting than the sparks we saw flying between Ash and Misty, and more recently between Angie and Ash. I think that is what is needed in a good relationship.

(sweatdropping) Uh... sparks? Those sparks may be a little too much in the way of constant arguments, especially given Misty's overall attitude toward Ash. Dawn, on the other hand, has developed a similar thought process to Ash's, which I can certainly encourage between these two in the course of their bond. I would think that these similarities in Ash and Dawn's personalities can result in a more sustainable romantic friendship between them, inspiring not only each other, but their friends.

Yeah, Misty is a bit to sparky perhaps. That's why I prefer to ship Ash with Angie. Still some sparks, but she is also much like Ash in some other aspects, so no fighting all the time, since that can be boring too...

Okay, guys, road trip time.

Last night, I was watching The Lion King. Really great, really sweet movie. Now, you know that scene where Elton John's "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" is playing? That's the one!

Well, I start imagining that scene playing out with Ash and... well, it shifted between Misty, Dawn and May. But I tell you this: Dawn's cycles lasted the longest. Congrats, Pearlshipping, you've "tainted" me. Afterwards, I felt somewhat ashamed, don't ask me why, so I watched Speed Racer instead.

P.S. the Pokeshipper in me gave a sigh of relief when Misty came in second in the longest-cycle race.

Where are all the Pearlshippers? Next weeks episode in Japan looks to be great one for us.

Heh, I'd be very surprised if this happened in DP133-

Dawn and her Pokemon attempt to cheer Ash up. And as nothing works, Dawn goes in to kiss Ash to see if that will cheer him up, in a way.

If that happens, the writers should just name the episode "PearlShipping!!!"

Not that that will happen.

......Because Dawn and a depressed Ash will be alone. Together.

Indeed, and while Brock is gathering berries and encountering Uxie, no less. I find the screenshots for this preview rather compelling, and I'm left to give PKLegendHeroe from the Serebii Pearlshipping thread credit for posting them over there.:

I will ponder this new round of concern from Dawn for Ash as she attempts to figure out how to get his morale back up.

I really cant wait for nexts week episode. i heard that Dawn puts up a pokemon play for Ash. that is just cute. i cant wait. and im a advanceshipper. xD

Pokémon plays, or concern during any kind of danger? I noted how worried Ash sounded when Dawn fell into that crevice with Barry and Team Rocket in it as they attempted to stop Team Galactic from scanning Mount Coronet for Spear Pillar, and I can certainly wonder how far Ash and Dawn will go should they confront Team Galactic once more in the future. Ash and Dawn's bond should soundly demonstrate this show's best attributes in such a showdown.

A Pokémon play?? How about Romeo and Juliet where noone dies? XD
Anyone seen the episode Crossing Paths? (The one where Jessie releases Dustox) There is a scene where Jessie has a flashback of where her and her childhood crush Austin parted. I could easily see Ash in Dawn In that sort of situation as Dawn is very emotional.
I would LOVE to see a SatoHika kiss! It would be the biggest breakthrough in Pokemon shipping history... but as Jabberwocky said the writers aren't known for their shippy-ness.

Consistency between Ash and Dawn in their romantic friendship will and should be helpful to us Pearlshippers in our speculation about these two kids' current bond. Their energy toward helping each other and their Pokémon has inspired me greatly, and it may have inspired some or even many of you in your own thoughts, as well. Allow me to propose this question to this end.:

If you saw "Saving the World from Ruins", what do you think of it?

I've seen it Japanese with English subtitles. It's a really good episode! As for shippy-ness it's really what you ship I mean an Advanceshipper would think it was less shippy than a Pearlshipper was... If only Ash had gone back for Dawn and not Riley.
I'm waiting for something to spark between them like when they first high-fived in Dawn's first contest but something more.. not too extreme, just a compliment or gratitude would be enough.

Ash's reflexes when Dawn fell into that hole with Barry and Team Rocket in it may be notable... alongside Dawn's dismay at Ash's Chimchar's unsuccessful attempt to use Dig to find a way off Iron Island before Mars blew it to smithereens. Ash and Dawn's encounters with Team Galactic may prove to be even more notable in the future, especially with the Original One's appearance increasingly prominent to us.:

Is it me, or do Ash and Dawn seem to have an uncanny ability to make friends with virtually any Pokémon they encounter? Such friendship and optimism, I think, would make Pearlshipping more effective than any other coupling I've sensed in expressing the attributes that make Pokémon an excellent show.

I'm afraid that pointy is moot, as it applies to every other character Ash has traveled with. Misty, Brock, May, Max, Dawn... the same characteristics you note here permeated in each of those characters, to no lesser extent.

That is true.. but then again you really don't want to get on the Pokemon creator of the universe's bad side! XD
Love that poster.. C'mon Ash hold her hand already!
