It's not that they are bad... but Swoobat looks a bit weird, and Noivern is good but takes lots of time to get in-game.

I'm more a fan of the classic bats. They have a special place in my heart, next to Geodude, Rattata, Pidgey and Tentacool.

I like how they returned in BW2. Good level, at a spot that makes sense, not them being present in all caves. Cool.

Of the bats, I'd say Swoobat is my favorite. I'm biased since I caught a shiny Woobat on White's American release, and I've had her since the very beginning of the game. XD

Crobat is the best. I don't play competitively, but I almost always use it as a flier in games.

They are generally pretty fragile, but I use the ol' Confuse Ray-Toxic-Fly combination and it seems to work pretty well. But then, pretty much anything can work well in-game :p

I think the sleeper-hit Pokemon of Y for me has been Wormadam (Trash Cloak so it's Bug/Steel). She was the first Pogey I maxed out in Super Training as well as Amie, and is basically a Fairy-type's worst nightmare. I wasn't expecting her to be such a busta, but she is.

I can't stand Zubat or Golbat, but I love Crobat. Noibat's line is a close second. The Woobat line is meh.
