The most unoriginal nicknames ever.

Big Red the red Gyarados.

Cynder the Cyndaquil.

KyeKye the Kyogre.

MEGADRAGON the Dragonite.

I've got a million of these.

Naming your Lucario Skywalker. I thought I was creative. I wasnt.

Okay that one's kinda funny at least. So what if it isn't original, I snerked :D

Often I go to bulbapedia for help naming my less-cared-for pocket monsters. I probably end up with horribly unoriginal names, but sometimes I think I do alright. "Baku" the Hypnos is probably overdone [it says right in one of Drowzee's pokedex entries that they're descended from Baku the Dream-Eater, if I recall correctly], while Niseag the Lapras is probably a bit more unique [Niseag is the Gaelic spelling of "Nessie", which I imagine to be grossly overused].

My Typhlosion is Storm, which I came up with by taking Cyndaquil's Japanese name to be 火の嵐, or Firestorm [and her one and only son, which I traded to Phloop, was named Firestorm]. Not the most unique name I'm sure, but ... better than some?

Perhaps my favorite is Emet the Geodude/Graveller/Golem, named for the word in Hebrew etched onto a Golem to give it life. Although that, too, I'm sure isn't unique... but I hope it's at least rare.

I've seen quite a few Abomasnow nicknamed Barack.

*gigglefits* That's TERRIBLE :D

Vaporeon: Showers
Jolteon: Sparky
Flareon: Booster
Umbreon: Blacky

Is giving your Pokemon their Japanese names as nicknames considered unoriginal?
Well at least mine don't suck as bad as my friend's Chimchar whom he named KILLER...

sparky, lighting, or bolt for any electric type

oh, and any god
Roman, Greek, norse, all of em

I think it was in LG or something that I had a Pichu Sparky, a (female) Pikachu Sparkle, and like hell I remember the male Raichu but it was probably Spark___.

Dunsparce is Durian because it looks like yellow crap in the shade of the Durian fruit and Durian also looks like yellow crap.

OK you know what. Lugia's gonna be Luigi mmhmm.
