What DON'T you want to see in SM?

Indeed. I was shocked that they would go so far as to introduce the "upside-down 3DS" method for Inkay exclusively, when it would work so perfectly for Bergmite as well. I now hold my 3DS upside-down when evolving Bergmite anyway, out of spite.

Then again, you don't have to do the trade.

What DON'T you want to see in SM?

It extends to the Starters, as well, as they also follow the European/Chinese/Japanese dynamic. Snivy is a European noble, Tepig is a character from Journey to the West, and Oshawott is a samurai.

What DON'T you want to see in SM?

None of the legends or lore are *necessary* to the region except for Reshiram and Zekrom's. That's *why* I like the Kami trio, and the Swords, and Meloetta and Victini. None of them are necessary, but they enrich the region's history. I can write out the events of Unova's past, and have a pretty...

What DON'T you want to see in SM?

I can't imagine you were very keen on seasons, then? But I agree, to an extent. Especially in regards to HGSS, like with the Safari Zone objects. I'm not waiting 110 days for a bloody Bagon, you can't make me. However, at the same time, I do think that it makes the world feel more natural and...

What DON'T you want to see in SM?

I like that there are Pokémon that don't evolve. It feels more natural, in worldbuilding terms, and not all of them are like helplessly bad.

What DON'T you want to see in SM?

I would like to echo the, "Please don't have the villains using only a small pool of stereotypically 'bad guy' Pokémon" request. Team Rocket in FRLG were a decent mix, even if that is largely in part due to the Sevii Islands cell, and most of them are still Poison-type anyway. And it seemed like...

What DON'T you want to see in SM?

Regarding the number of Legendary Pokémon per generation, I think it's really just a matter of how well they are used. Sinnoh and Unova have the highest number of Legendaries per regional Dex, but all of them have at least some level of involvement in either the storyline or the region's...

What DON'T you want to see in SM?

They sort of did with Genesect and Team Plasma in Gen V, but you could only find that out via the event or by looking at Genesect's Dex entries. No, that's correct. He wasn't trying to remake the world or anything. I think what @godiego was getting at was how he lied and kept his true...

What DON'T you want to see in SM?

Well of course it should be expanded. But XY were the first time they had ever attempted a feature like that, and came alongside many other "first-time attempting" features like Amie and Super Training and the 3D graphics themselves. It's unrealistic to expect perfection from the first attempt...

What DON'T you want to see in SM?

If you feel that it's a waste of time, then just don't use it. That's all you have to do. No need to completely excise the feature that the majority of players loved.

What DON'T you want to see in SM?

I can't see how the Sinnoh references in HGSS can be called "nostalgia" pandering. That's like calling all of the references to AZ and the weapon in ORAS "nostalgia" pandering to XY. In fact, I think "pandering" isn't the correct word here, either. It's all just building internal continuity...

What DON'T you want to see in SM?

I think BW were the only ones to get this "new," easy-to-catch setup right. It's a huge moment in the story at the very end of the main game; you and N are on equal grounds, and your dragon is still liable to get slaughtered by Ghetsis's Hydreigon. It simply doesn't compare to being handed a...

What DON'T you want to see in SM?

Yeah, which is why I'm wondering if it's perhaps the post-Champion battles themselves that somehow cannot accommodate Exp. gain. As you say though, it's not a terribly huge deal regardless. They're just one-off story battles. Although, maybe like, if you fought the Champion with a Pokémon on...

What DON'T you want to see in SM?

Which is all great, but I think the argument here is more about how they don't give any Exp. points. Personally, I don't really mind, as I can appreciate having a battle for pure storytelling value, but it does seem a bit odd unless there is some kind of technical limitation that prevents them...

What DON'T you want to see in SM?

Deino's situation still isn't nearly as bad as Larvesta's. Barring trades, the only one that you get during the main game is in an egg. That's 58 levels of training a Pokémon that's physically-based into one that's specially-based. I love Unova and nearly all of the Pokémon in it, but they...

What DON'T you want to see in SM?

Well, it is true that I do think it is best to make use of the many already-existing Pokémon before adding new ones, so in that regard, I like what XY did. I suppose if I think about it, my real problem with it is more that I wish they had diversified the areas a bit more, specifically as it...

What DON'T you want to see in SM?

I loved what BW did, but it also seemed like kind of a novelty, and it didn't sit well with a lot of other players, so I don't think they would do that again. However... I don't know that I've really ever been happy with any of the regional Pokédexes. Johto's was alright, but lacking too many...

What DON'T you want to see in SM?

No, but not all spooky ghosts get storyline expansion. The ghosts at the Old Chateau were just there. The ghost in Phoebe's room is a blink-and-you-miss-it scare. The forest (Xerneas)/mountains (Yveltal). They explained this. When Xerneas/Yveltal reach the end of their lifespans, they...
